News & Updates from Wanda Lipski · Page 8

People in the UK will know that we were sweltering last week with temperatures in the 40s during the day and not dropping below 30C at night.
So hot that everyone hides away, windows, shutters and curtains closed while we just watch our brains liquify.
If only the love handles would also just melt away !!! This week they promised us 2C cooler every day, so I snapped this in my car yesterday when I was forced to leave my cool(ish) sanctuary.
We hit a gentle 35 by the time I had to drive home.
For the English rose that I am, with a comfort zone that ends at 24C, its been hard, and with my workshop at the top of the house, Ive not been designing much.
Too hot! However, a couple of my most recent designs if your sense of humour has not been burnt to a frazzle.
ENJOY

We are lucky (?) to have 32 panels opposite our house, each for a different party with a list in the European elections on Sunday.
Although half the panels are empty, particularly for the smaller parties, the ANIMALISTs have been out in force and choice no 31 is well in view.
Naturally my Misty stopped to have a sniff and asked to be lifted up to take a better look at the poster.
We photographed the result and she of course told me exactly what she was thinking..... So here you have it, straight from the horses sorry doggies mouth !!!!
ENJOY and have a good week.

We have one of these light boxes on which you can post your messages. Hubby uses it quite a lot and I sometimes come to bed (we keep rather different hours) to find a surprise message awaiting me.
This one really had me laughing out loud.
I do not have dual nationality despite having been here for 34 years, so Im not really worried ...With a defender like my Michel, who could be worried.
Ive been uploading some soft gentle sheets this week. I hope you enjoy them.

While we were in London at the beginning of the month for my Mums birthday, we visited a baker in Kensington whose recipes I translated for one of my clients.
The photo of this raspberry eclair stayed in mind and I dragged my hubby for morning coffee and pastries to his original pastry shop not far from the famous Natural History Museum.
I didnt regret either the detour or the expense. Not only were these eclairs incredibly beautiful on the eye but absolute heaven and a half on the tongue.
Since I have given up sugar for lent, this is the closest I can get to sugar, chocolate or dessert ...Thank heavens for memories that dont settle on the hips.
Have a good week and enjoy YOUR desserts ...

My husband always going to bed long before me, I came to bed one night this week to find this message at the bottom of my bed.
I had to laugh. My husband, being French does NOT master the language of Shakespeare but for once did pretty well.
He gives me Brexit about 10 times a day, any time he sees anything about the subject on the web ...
Living here since 1984 Im not afraid that they well try to throw me out, but who knows ... (imagine Gallic shrug here) ...
Meanwhile Ive been adding more designs to my Twist&Pop series, so ENJOY and have a good (Brexit final vote?) week.
