SO SAD BUT INSPIRATIONAL

I was SOOO sad to spot this kingfisher in the car park of a local supermarket. I dont know if it was a baby on its maiden flight, because he was a good flight from the river Loire.

He was so larger than the palm of my hand.

But it got me to thinking that I had never made a card with a kingfisher, so here it is.

A quadra easel card for you, and to help you celebrate with me our National holiday (14th July- start of the French revolution with the storming of the Bastille prison and the liberation of the handful of prisoners therein) Im on special today so that you can enjoy my kingfisher at a discount.

Glad to be back with you, and ENJOY!

CREATIVITY IS NOT JUST FOR THE LADIES

Well just admire the creativity in this little photo ... my husbands creativity ... my husband whose culinary skills now stretch to a salad ... my husband who is still able to surprise me and make me laugh.

He makes the salad for when I come home from playing the organ in church and last Saturday this was the dessert he proudly produced.

Hes such a sweetie !Ive been busy busy busy this week. All of my stepper calendars are now available in 2025 versions, and for any stepper calendar that you purchased in previous years, the calendar add on panels are now available for all the design.

Ive also done a couple of new ones but havent made them up yet - I test out all my designs of course, so I hope you find the perfect calendars to offer to family, friends and neighbours.

Have a good week and ENJOY!

GO GET YOUR GOAT

I snapped thjs adorable goat, on a recent visit to the Averyron department.

He was wandering around a trodlodyte village (all the original buildings built into the rock) and by the time we had finished clambering up the mountain, we both felt that the goat had the best of it because he wasnt hot and sweaty!

After 18 months of chemo, radio and immunotherapy, we havent really had the opportunity to take any holiday so the 5 days we spent away was a wonderful reward for my husbands (virtually) clean bill of health.

TWINS AND TWINS AND TWINS

Imagine my surprise when I cracked an egg onto my bed of chopped leeks, fennel and onion, topped off with a juicy scallop to discover TWO yolks.

It happens but not very often.

When I cracked the second egg into the next ramekin and the same thing occurred, I started to chuckle. By the third I was laughing, the fourth was a definite guffaw and by the time Id cracked the sixth I was screaming to my husband to fetch my phone to photograph my starter offering.

He looked but did not see what the fuss was about until I told him to count the egg shells that I didnt get in the picture so youll have to take me on my scouts honour word.

I buy my eggs from the baker, three doors down from me and he gets his eggs heavens knows where but they are always extra large and really, really fresh.

For the recipe, add a drizzle of cream and bake in a bain marie until the whites are set.

A great hit at my dinner table as it was hard to credit 6 consecutive double yoked eggs ....

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY - NOT SO GOOD FOR THE HIPS

But absolutely delicious on the tongue ! We celebrated our wedding anniversary last Friday, and spent a wonderful weekend. My husband took me to dinner on Saturday to a fabulous restaurant.

This was just one of 3 desserts that arrived and the chef had personalized this for us, although my husband had not asked for anything special.

The restaurant had heard his pleas for an anniversary table and decided to make it special for us.

On Sunday he invited me for a tete a tete lunch at home, but when he allowed me to come downstairs I discovered close friends who had crept into the house to celebrate the moment with us.

As we battle cancer, making such special memories are so necessary and I just hope that we will make many, many more.
