My post-stroke list included seeing the glass coffin that contains the unputrefied remains of Bernadette Soubirou, who ended her short life in a convent in Nevers.

Whether you are a believer or not, the phenomenon of a body exhumed 3 times and showing no signs of decay makes her a wonder to behold.

Admittedly, since during the second exhumation when they took relics her face and hands began to blacken in contact with the air, the coated her face and hands in a thin layer of wax so as to make her more presentable to the public.

She definitely looks as though shes resting in peace.

I posted some time back porcelain flowers left as tributes on graves, but these interesting wrought iron gravestones were found in a cemetary not 10 kms from my home.

Interestingly they all dated from the 1960s.

There must have been a job lot purchased by the local funeral director and instead of the more traditional marble slab placed horizontally over the family vault all the deceased of the time were buried without a piece of marble in sight, and hearts in the centre of each cross.

Id love to know more about them .... No, its not gruesome, just interesting. Have a good week ...

Go on, scoff, laugh, giggle, snicker ... These tomatoes are the result of weeks and weeks of painstaking work. Last year someone gave hubby three tomato plants.

Every day he went out and watered his plants and finally he harvested one and a half green tomatoes (the other half was rotten).

Hes planted them in the garden where nothing really gets any sun as everything is shaded by out 150 year old trees.

Well, they dont have GROW BAGS here, but I persuaded hubby to buy a bag of compost and we planted out cherry toms in the bag and placed it on the ROOF.

Looking after the tomatoes involves climbing out the window with bottles filled with water but the results are there. Actually those toms arent anymore, we ate them! Absolutely delicious. I think OUR tomatoes will cost us about 100 EUROS a kilo, but theres nothing like home grown and totally ORGANIC.

On our way back from the hospital where I was fitted with a 24 hours Holter machine, hubby dropped me and the dog for a walk that I had sussed out on a previous occasion, sure I knew where the path would take me.

How wrong I was.

With the machine pumping up my arm every 15 minutes, we set of, me having told hubby to meet me after his bit of shopping where I expected to end up.

An hour later, feeling rather lost, he phoned me to find out where I was. I of course had no idea, but I could hear a road that I was heading towards and could see a field of sunflowers.

He drove around until he found the sunflowers and so eventually me and the dog. I snapped my saving field, so Ive chosen to share two of my new calendars, one of which features Sunflowers.

Following on from my (thankfully) minor stroke, hubby and I decided to draw up a list of all those TO DO things that we never get around to.

As well as the items that are in the realms of our dreams there are many that are very attainable including Have a Picnic in Chalmazel the ski resort on the hills opposite us, a mere 60- minute drive away.

We packed picnic, dog, and sun hats and set off. Made a short detour to visit a (closed) fortified castle on top of a hill and it was leaving the site that I had one of those curl-up-and-die moments.

If tomorrow was the 11th, then people were coming to transport my church organ to a nearby church for a classy music festival AND I WASNT AT HOME.

About 5 miles from our destination and crossing something off our list, we turned tail, drove home and ate our picnic sitting on the grass in our garden.

My photos of the castle didnt come out (maybe hubbys did) but I did snap these cute characters on our route.
