Today we had guests for lunch and I received this box of chocolates as is the custom.
It was so original I felt that I just had to share the idea with all you clever crafters who are maybe beginning to think about you are going to wrap all those christmas presents.
Actually I think the packaging is an overweight ladies dream ... how can I possible undo the packaging to get at the goodies inside?
I think this is THE definition of eye candy ... very gentle on the hips.
Over in the UK you have so many new restrictions of social gatherings I hope youre all staying safe and crafting like mad.

Many, many places in France have now made masks compulsory even outdoors, so my darling husband, in an effort to protect me brought me my evening cup of tea (yes, hes a positive sweetie, brings me breakfast in bed too) wearing a mask. at least that gave me one good laugh during the day.

There may not be many WWII names of on village monuments but the 8th May is a bank holiday and traditionally there is a ceremony at the memorial at 11 am.
This year ... at 10 to 11 no sign of any activity so my husband, official flag bearer for the Royal British Legion and I held our own ceremony, with me playing the Marseillaise and the Chant des Partisans ...
THE song of the Resistance at memorial. Wed just got back home, put away the accordion when we say 5 members of the town hall turning up for the official ceremony at a very unofficial time.
French flag bearer had been banned by the government, but hubby claimed that as he was representing the British ...
More accordion solos and then back home for photos on balcony, that made the local RBL newsletter.

I spent part of the day at 11th November commemorations as every village has its monument to the dead (mostly from the 1st World War of course) and every village and town remembers their fallen veterans.
This year they read out the list of all the soldiers who gave their lives for their country in overseas operations.
Very moving. The evening we spent in a medieval chateau where we slept on the top floor of a corner tower ... and awoke to snow.
Weve had a good 15-20 cms of snow this week, but fortunately it has now melted to be replaced by rain.
What with an earthquake felt around 40 kms away, its been quite momentous here. Lets hope this week will be quieter ... Have a good one and ENJOY!
Those who follow me will know I love sharing what life in France is really like. Well, this is the 1st November, actually All Saints Day, the day before the 2nd All Souls Days. So technically, we should all run down to the cemeteries on the 2nd.
The French love being just a bit different so they declare the 1st a bank holiday so that everyone can rush to the florist, buy a huge pot of chrysanthemums and take them down to the pay homage to their loved ones.
Consequently, our cemeteries look absolutely gorgeous just at this time of year as all the tombs are covered with flowers.
