When my brother came over he brought with him something my Mum couldnt pop in the post ... this beautiful patchwork quilt.
It is hand-sewn but she apologises that her stitches are not as regular as they used to be.
She is feeling proud that she completed it in just under a year, just in time for my birthday. Mum is 82 so all stitching irregularities are 100% forgiven. My fellow designers love showing off their adorable grandchildren ... I just wanted to share with you all my clever Mum !!! Have a good week while I enjoy my quilt.
OK this might be in French but I spotted this wonderful sign in a restaurant this week where we dined in your shady courtyard as the weather here is glorious after a chilly start to the month.
Since Im definitely a dessert girl (too bad about the hips) this sign spoke to me, shouted at me and I had a rather delicious macaron... just obeying orders ...
Ive been playing with more Ratatouille cards as we are still chasing (although not catching any anymore) our friendly neighbourhood rats so I hope you appreciate my final ratty offerings.

Rats!
Do you remember learning the poem in your children ... Well we have them. Global warming (or something) has seen lots of people in the village emptying the shelves of anti-rat products. Well we got one ... and the only good thing about our rat hunt is that it has inspired me to a series or Ratatouille cards.
Disney made rats cute and lovable. The reality is not cute so loveable, but have a good week and ENJOY!
Sunday, St Martin sur Oreuse ... 1944 and A Lancaster returning from a bombing raid of Stuttgart was shot down over this commune south of Paris and a 4 and a half hour drive from our home.
The ceremony included a hommage to a French resistance fighter, a ceremony at the cemetery where the 7 airmen are buried and the unveiling of a new memorial stone.
The RAFA (Royal Air Force Association (left on photo) and Royal British Legion were present as were a WRAF Captain and a Wing Commander.
Members of the families were also present so it was a rather emotional day.
The son of one of the airmen said he was glad that his fathers final resting place was watched over by friends he had never known ....

Ignore is a small town where the first-ever operation to bring supplies to the Resistance saw a Lancaster land in a field, now part of an industrial estate.
My husband (French but an honorary member of the Royal British Legion for putting up with a Brit) was their official representative carrying the Union flag during the commemoration of this unheard-of prowess.
The plane was part of the US air-force so we were treated to Glen Miller, town-hall employees dressed in military uniforms, taped interviews with eyewitnesses of the landing (and the camouflage operation before the plane left for the UK), a military camp with tanks and even a glider ...!
As you can see I was roped in to be a queeny look alike and I have the impression that my hat was photographed multiple times.
