11 NOVEMBER CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS IN LYON

My sweety husbanhas been very busy, literally flying the flag for the British.

Asked by the Royal British Legion (he IS a member although he is French but as an ex-serviceman and married to a Brit, the local branch decided long ago that he deserved the recognition) to bear the Union Jack during armistice celebrations.

The flag is VERY heavy and for the last two weekends hes been on duty. A moving celebration in Lyon, very well attended by the public and televised, so my Michel is now a star.

Hell finish his duties on Saturday in the military cemetary at Mont dOr, site of a British military hospital during WWII.

Have a good week and ENJOY a couple of my latest designs ...

GLOBAL WARMING ????

While great swathes of France are underwater ... literally, .... the rest of us have had an absolutely gorgeous month of October with it still being perfectly possible to eat and read outside without having to don the thermals ...

Or rather that was the case until the 30th October when it snowed, 50 cm fell in about 4 hours.

Since the treees are still covered with leaves the result was blocked roads and the gardens and countryside devasted as branches broke under the weight of all the snow, trapped in place by the leaves.

My photo of the square where we live early in the morning, is no really so spectacular until you remember is was only OCTOBER.

Global warming .. I dont buy it, but I do subscribe to Global weather gone mad !!!!. This is my birthday weekend, so Im on designer discount Friday through Monday so that you can all celebrate with me.

Have a good week and ENJOY !

SHES SUCH A GOOD SPORT

Ladies and Gentlemen, May I present ...

A REALLY GOOD SPORT ... other known as my 80 year old Mum here seen during our recent visit to Southwold pier where she gamely had a go to see how she would get along crossing a VERY busy road with a ZIMMER FRAME.

Needless to say she was splattered all over the road way and her two adorable daughters had a good laugh but I would like to say her and now, SHES A DIAMOND and game for a laugh.

Since I came back from the trip Ive been busy thinking of my Christmas list and have come up with some new calendars, these ones with a note pad and pen so ideal for placing next to the telephone.

A Christmas or New Year gift that will show friends and neighbours that you appreciate them all year round. Have a good week and enjoy!

FOR DOG OWNERS WHO DONT LIVE IN THE UK

All you Brits may scoff at the things this Anglo/Frog finds amusing but when I snapped this DOGGY YOGHURT point of sale machine in Southwold during my recent visit to my Mum, I knew I just had to share it with all the crafters who are NOT in the UK and may well have never seen such icy delights for their 4-legged friends.

I even spotted WINE for dogs in a pet shop. We certainly have nothing like that for dogs here.

Im on designer discount as you are reading this so please feel free to make the most of my generosity and for all you dog lovers out there, a couple of my doggy offerings that I hope will also make you smile.

Have a good week and ENJOY !

NOT A BAD SMELL .... PEWS

Look at the photo ... Whats the odd ? The pews arent facing in the same direction !!! Absolutely brilliant pews in the cathedral of Nevers where there appeared to be an altar at each end of the nave ...

So to solve thhe problem of seating all their pews had seat backs that could be put into one of two positions to let people face forward of backwards.

Absolutely ingenious and you must admit it makes a change from cemetaries or dead bodies ..... Have a good week and I hope you enjoy a couple of my latest christmas poppy cuties.
