Today we had winter storm warnings. November?? Too soon. But the leaves have turned and we have raked up over 12 bags already. Leaves are still falling. Tonight we are suppose to see snow.

Yikes.This is a great time to snuggle under warm blankets, start my Christmas cards, drink warm cider and enjoy a warm fire.

Im thankful for the beauty in the trees but not for the chance of snow.

Had a granddaughter week end full of fun and games. We even did something educational. I have lived in Iowa for most of my life and have never been to the Botanical Garden.

It was a cold week end but the glass bubble trapped all the warm humid are making it a delightful experience.

We saw so many different plants. Even did an outdoors part and tried to get a photo of the reflection of the girls.

Its getting colder in Iowa, USA. My husband tries to paint one side of the house each year. That is even a challenge with wet springtime, hot summers and cooler autumn. Last year only half of this side got painted. I helped a little but its hard work.

I think this will be the last time we completely paint on out own.

Wow! Standing in a field of sunflowers is a real treat. There are several farms in our area that have these tall flowers available to wander through the fields in September.

They are only open for a very short time. They are taller than me or my husband.

Hopefully this year we can have our granddaughter with us.

Gertrude the cat is visiting. She is curious about everything. Im being careful but, oops, I left the office door open. I was going through my popup cards in search of birthday cards for a client. Unfortunately I left the door open and this is what I came back to.

This kitty is not trained like a dog. You cant say get down or come here and expect a reaction. But she is very lovable and the owner, me, needs to be trained.
