It is winter in a few days time here but we are yet to have a frost. We can usually get a frost from late April onward. I guess the wet weather has had something to do with it.
Today it is mostly sunny for the first time in a long time, ive even managed to get some washing on the line instead of in the dryer.
But the wet also keeps the pollens in check so here i was this morning sneezing my head off while taking pics of this lovely wattle in flower.

This lizard was found making the most of a sunny day after all the rain and cloudy days weve had.
A dry log would have been much nicer than the still soggy ground! He was not at all concerned with me taking his photo.
Though he was keeping an eye on me I guess he just couldnt be bothered moving. We dont see many frilled neck lizards or water dragons here, just the occasional one so it was nice to see him out and about, it was certainly a good day for it.

We were lucky enough to go away for a week before the weather gets too cold. Had booked plenty in advance when Mr 1s birthday party precipitated most of the family getting covid.
Luckily enough I was out of quarantine before the week away, alas I then strained my back 5 days before departure!
Was a lovely week away though everything was done at a slow pace, at least I had planned a restful vacation not 24/7 activities, lots of walking though as I couldnt sit for too long.
Now been 2 weeks since the strain and 4 days home and I can finally sit and craft or be on the computer so some new cards coming soon!
Until then Happy Mothers Day on Sunday for those in Aus and NZ.

This summer I put my poor old desert rose out in the sunshine, it usually lives in my south facing kitchen year round.
I also re-potted it and look how happy it is!
This is the first time it has flowered in years (probably since i brought it home from Mums, she would be very pleased.) I think the second bud will open before it is time to once again bring it inside as the weather is now turning colder.

My chrysanthemums were quite happy about the all the rain. As you can see they will be a mass of flowers soon. In Australia Mothers Day is celebrated in May. My son gave me these last Mums Day in a small pot.
I dont have much of a green thumb but planted them out into this big pot once they had finished flowering indoors.
I am quite happy with their progress.
