Little Pretty Face Wallaby

Our Pretty Face Wallabies are back this year. I usually only see Mum and Bub but did also see Dad the other day.You can see Bub is actually quite large now!

He/she, however still fits in Mums pouch, with difficulty and generallywith tail still hanging out, so funny to watch the squirming going on to get in there.

Dont worry about the fencing, theyare not in a pen, just between my fenced off garden and the driveway fence. The Christmas Globe Koala is just one of my Christmas animals set.

Pretty Petunias

We have been so busy post holiday dealing with all the declared weeds on our property that have sprung up seemingly from nowhere due to the above average winter rain that I have only recently realised that among the rubbish there was an upside.

These lovely Petunias have also sprung up seemingly from nowhere. We had been in drought so long I cant even remember when this garden bed had Petunias in it! About a dozen plants have sprung up, some of them in the lawn even.

Particularly nice also was to find one white and pink plant had sprung up at our pet cemetery, nowhere near the other plants! My cards today feature some lovely animals getting into the Christmas spirit.

There are now 9 in this collection, some currently on discount.

A Garden Visitor

I was out taking pics of our grevillia flowering, they are quite happy as we had plenty of winter rain and a bit of follow uprain so far this spring.

After taking my pics i was walking around the garden pulling up a specific weed that is quite a nuisance, wehad spent the long weekend going around the property pulling them up but had obviously missed a few.

Then my juvenile butcher bird landed in this tree with the sky behind her and not too many leaves on the tree yet.

This was the bird i had been handfeeding mice over the winter during our infestation, so she was happy to sit and talk and of course i actually had my camera on me!My pics are a few of my 50s sheets.

2 Weeks Spent Dinosaur Hunting!

We have been on the move (literally) for the last 3 weeks. Queensland is a big state. The first two weeks were spent following the dinosaur trail here. There have been so many astonishing discoveries since we took our kids over 20 years ago!

There were so many new displays and ongoing digs. (We were told there was a backlog of up to 20 years work in each lab, just on the ones that have been excavated up to now.

They work on them generally in chronological order of when they were found unless something pretty special turns up and gets put the front of the queue which had happened on one of our tours.) My grandson thinks im a bit dim sometimes because i dont know all the new names of the dinosaurs and refer to them as what we were taught in school, so Nanny has to brush up a bit lol.

My pic is a Plesiosaur aka Richmond Polycotylid.

Our Pretty Face Wallabies Have Returned!

I was so pleased last night when my husband pointed out to me that our Pretty Face Wallabies have returned.

We used to have quite a few families but with droughts and cars over the past few years they had virtually disappeared.

A pair has now turned up, they know they are safe on our property though these were a bit skittish.

This photo was taken quite a while ago. i am hoping to see a baby come spring. My cards are two recently uploaded cards, I quite like them. hope you do too.
