You may have noticed i have been absent from CUP for a while. I have been away at my daughters awaiting the birth of my latest grandchild who threatened to come early (as her mother had done to me).
As it turned out thought she stayed put almost to term but my other grandchildren were grumpy she was taking so long so Mumma bought them a kitten!
So i have had plenty of kitten cuddles as i miss having a cat. Today i will have baby cuddles at last as my newest grandchild was born yesterday.
We have had a few lovely fine days here after what has seemed like constant rain. I have been away on Grandparent duties and have come home to these lovely Amaryllis flowers but also sooo many weeds.
Looks like a weekend of gardening is overdue for me.
I love our Spring here. The daytime temps have been very nice, no jacket all week! These items currently on discount.
As the La Nina continues this year here in Australia I dont need to do any watering to keep the garden happy (the hoses in the pic are for our gray water which can be used for gardens).
Unfortunately this does mean the weeds are also proliferating and are hard to keep under control but my Gazanias are bloomin gorgeous at the moment.
I should probably have thinned them out a little while ago but will get to it soon enough and spread the colour to another garden bed.
Our lovely Wisteria was a bit slow going to flower but now it looks lovely. The smell is just divine and the sound of buzzing bees around the flowers is incredible! The wind and rain is knocking the flowers off a bit but we kind of expect that.
This Wisteria is about 8 years old now and is great for shade in the hotter weather, so very versatile.
My cards this week are Christmasy again and there are also a selection of my new season Christmas designs on 25% discount.
I have been keeping a keen eye on our duck family, watching the fourteen babies as they grow. This week they are almost the same size as their parents but you can see the difference in the adults colouring.
The babies have been stretching their wings and fluttering getting them strong in order to fly i guess. Dont be alarmed by the fencing in the photo they are not penned in but on the driveway between a fence and a garden.
In other news we have had another inch of rain overnight making 3 inches in the week so everything is rather wet.
The wisteria is full of buds and probably next weeks news will show some lovely flowers.Two cards from my latest collections, there are many variants so take a look.
