An Unexpected Visitor

When i went to feed the chooks this morning i found an unexpected visitor. A possum has managed to get locked in the chook pen last night or just managed to get in and decided to stay for the day.

He was most upset that i had awakened him as they are nocturnal. My chooks are not very happy that he is asleep in their hutch and had laid the eggs on the floor!

A New Arrival

No not a baby, well sort of. Hubby has just taken delivery of a new second hand bike. With this bike i will also be able to go for a ride as it has a very comfy pillion passenger seat.

I do need to make sure i get all the gear for riding though as we havent had a bike for two before and i dont have a bike license.

I am very much looking forward to my first ride though.

Not So Tardy

I reported last week that our Wisteria bloomed early (and even more so now) which made me take a look at who else has realized that Spring is here only to find that most everyone else is still being tardy though there are plenty of buds out.

So far this one lone tree is contributing a bit of colour with its healthy show of leaves and my Daisies are out but thats about it.

We are expecting days around the 30 degree Celsius mark over the weekend so surely the rest will wake up properly soon!

Our Wisteria

Two weeks ago i reported that we were awaiting the buds on the Wisteria to open to see if we would get flowers this year or just leaves.

The proof is in the pudding so they say! We now have beautiful flowers everywhere and the smell is glorious.

The bees are quite happily buzzing around them too as we dont have much else flowering just yet.

Buds!

It has been warming up here with only the odd minus degree. This is my wisteria getting ready (hopefully) to blossom. Until they open we never know if we will get flowers in any given year.

Apparently when the first buds open if they are leaves rather than flowers the we wont get flowers for that season.

Heres hoping these buds are flowers as they are so lovely.
