There we were playing a word game in the garden when a very active snail dropped out of the tree above our heads and started slithering across the table and onto the dictionary.
I admit to flipping the page to the one that included escargot before snapping this picture that inspired me to create these two cards especially for my husband.
He needs a smile as we are one week into chemotherapy, although I admit to having to translate the text on the cards for him (lol).
So that sums up life in the French countryside this summer, SLOWLY but SURELY.
... but it feels like only just! 2022 was my annus horribilis. My first fracture of my right hand in October 2021 was followed by 5 further fractures to the same hand, which stopped my piano, accordeon, clarinette, organ and flute playing!
I did not have enough control of my hand to manipulate the computer mouse to doctor images and prepare cards so ... no news from me basically last year.
I can now hold a needle so I am able to sew but not yet able to apply the necessary pressure pour beading.
I have now been able to use a cutter to test out my images so I have been able to upload some card fronts ... tried and tester !
Since my husband is now kick, my consolation comes from Ravel, our blenheim cavalier who has been able to make his own contribution to the household, in addition to but not replacing the souvenir of our much loved tricolour Misty who featured regularly on these pages.

CUP has just sent me a gentle reminder that I havent uploaded in a while. There is a very good reason for this so I thought I ought to share. In the last 6 months I have BROKEN MY RIGHT HAND 5 times ... each time a different bone.
So for the last six months I have either had no possibility of using my right hand (in plaster) OR limited possibilities (in a splint).
What I canNOT do is hold a cutter to make up designs and so test them out before uploading them.
This photo was the first plaster cast. The current cast is Pink!!! Very summery. But I cant transfer the photo from my photo to my computer.
It gives a whole new meaning to the word HANDicapped! But Ill be back cos I reckon 5 bones is ENOUGH!
Ive been very, very quite for the last 10 weeks, but I have a really good excuse ... A double fracture to my right wrist and I am of course right-handed! No knitting, crochet, jewellery making, no card designing, and no piano and organ playing.
Also no cooking and housework ... yeah. So to sell more of the new Kiwanis cookery book featuring recipes from some of our most famous chefs, my darling hubby actually made his first every cake.
He was so proud of the result and it was frankly delicious!
I Today I finally made up the car card Im featuring today, but it was a long a painful process, especially as once the plaster came off, I slipped and fell again and broke a bone in my finger!!!
At least its keeping my husband in the kitchen. Enjoy my latest two designs, both of which have taken weeks and weeks of work and waiting!
This week Im sharing with you a photo of a new wooden sculpture that has been added to one of the door in our wood panelled dining room.
The way I took the photo it does rather look like a wooden addition to the ornate sculpting on the door!
No as youve guessed it was a live visitor that spent a good half hour in the house, totally unable to find the exit.
I finally managed to catch him and take him outside. To feel that warm little body and the beating heart was quite a moment. He left me a feather as a thankyou present and quite a few bird poops!!!
Just to tell you all that all my calendars have been updated and are now in 2022 versions with add-ons calendar panels available so that you can keep using my designs over and over again.
