News & Updates from Alyssuzi Creative Cards by Suzi Cooper · Page 2

Over the last almost 3 weeks I havent had much time for crafting as I have been organising (and playing in) the Valencian Bowls Championships.
These finished on Tuesday with the finals followed by the presentations.
The local newspaper who sponsor the event came along to take photos and I was messing about waiting for the presentations to start – little did I know that he had taken a photo of me.
Very flattering – NOT.I can now get back to doing my cardmaking although I still have to fit it in with league bowling.
On Sunday I have organised an Autumn Fair with almost 20 stalls, including my cards but true to form I am actually bowling in a competition at the same venue on the same day!
Luckily, I have a good friend who combines looking after her stall with looking after mine too – thank goodness.I am showcasing 2 Christmas designs – one by Janet Briggs and the other by Janice McFarlane.

This week I reached the big 60. First thing in the morning I went to my hairdressers who had opened early so that she could fit me in.
I then came home to get myself made up & dressed ready to go out for lunch with Allen & 14 friends. We had a lovely meal & I received lots of cards and gifts.
When it was time for dessert my plate arrived decorated with chocolate & strawberry syrups which read Happy Birthday. One of my friends took this photo of me with my dessert.I must admit I dont feel 60 & as someone said I dont act it either.

Last week Allen & I had a short visit to the UK for the Christening of his Great Granddaughter Olivia.
Her christening was being held in the same village church that Allen was christened in 74 years ago. The small church was almost full with all the family & friends.
After the service everyone went back to the football club for lunch. Amazingly all of Allens sisters & brother were also there so I took the opportunity to get a photo of all 6 of them in age order.
Allen is the eldest of the 6.
This is the first time in the 11 years that Allen & I have been together that we have managed to get all 6 together.

Last week I made a trip to the UK so that I could go to the Craft Show at Birmingham Exhibition Centre. As my partner has been ill all year I also arranged for him, his son and grandson to go watch their beloved West Ham play Everton at Upton Park.
This was the last chance they would get before West Ham move to the Olympic Stadium. After flying into Stansted airport I had arranged to meet up with CUP designer Julie Hutchings at the service area near to the airport.
We recognised each other straight away. Julie had brought me a bag of craft goodies as a gift. We were able to have a coffee and a chat while Allen chatted to his daughter.
It was soon time for Julie to leave to collect her son from school, but it was lovely to have met her in person.
Hopefully, next time we are in UK it won?t be for just a few days and we will be able to meet again and have more time. After a day at Allens daughter I travelled by train to Birmingham where I met up with my sister and we had Friday afternoon and Saturday in the show while we stayed in a hotel at Birmingham airport.
On Sunday morning I got my return train back to London where Allen, his daughter and grandson were waiting for our journey back to Stansted.
We flew back on Sunday evening after a short but very enjoyable trip with lots of craft goodies in my suitcase. Two of Julies Christmas designs

As the temperatures here in Spain have started to climb my cat Monty has been trying to find cooler places to sleep during the day.
This usually entails hopping into my computer chair as soon as I vacate it to go get a sheet of card. I have been having a clear up in my craft room.
I have moved a table into the bedroom temporarily and had put one of the baskets from a metal drawer unit on top.
Monty decided it would be a good place to sleep but it wasn?t comfortable, so I have put him his fleecy blanket and an old towel in so he is now happy.
I keep the shutters down all day so that the room stays cool and he sleeps all afternoon till walk time. I am showcasing 2 butterfly designs
