Having picked up our new kitten last week it has been a learning curve.
Our old cat was 17 years old so its a lot different having a 6 week old kitten. He is in to everything & I am becoming proficient at operating the computer with just my right hand while he plays with my left hand.
Allens legs look like pin cushions as Monty climbs up them whenever he can, so with his sharp claws there are a few cuts & scratches. He has also discovered that he can get up onto my crafting table by jumping from the sofa.
He then wants to play with everything on my table. The picture shows him helping me make up one of the 2 cards I have chosen to showcase.
Today I picked up our new kitten, who is called Monty. He is already making himself at home. He claimed the dogs bed but we have moved him into his own.
It will take a few days for our old dog to get used to him, although she has always had a cat around until our old cat had to be put to sleep 10 weeks ago. The picture shows us when I went to collect him.
This week I have been trying to fit doing special card orders as well as bowling & umpiring in the Spanish Nationals. With a day off today I concentrated on 2 special orders.
One was a Silver Wedding Anniversary card where my customer provided a photo which she wanted to be included on the card front.
The other for a different customer was a Wedding card which she wanted to incorporate the colour of the bridesmaid dresses, which was deep blue. I thought that I would share with you the 2 cards which were both finished with personalised inserts & lined gift boxes.
On Sunday this years Spanish National Bowls Championships start. The competition will run to the 24th May. Last year I missed the competition as I was in the UK visiting my sister for her 60th birthday & I also had the chance to meet up with Joan King.
Joan was over from New Zealand visiting her mum in Cheshire so I went up to see her & we went to visit CUP. While I was away Allen was playing in the competition.
In the 4s event he & his 3 teammates managed to win. They were crowned Mens Rinks Champions for 2013.
This year they will be defending their title, although this year it is being played on a round robin basis instead of the straight knockout. I too am participating but only in the Singles & Ladies pairs.
But having just had 8 weeks enforced rest on doctors orders it may be expecting too much to get far in either event.
About 7 weeks ago we had to have our 17 year old fur baby put to sleep as his liver had failed.
We were devastated & our little dog was totally lost as she had always had him around. We took time to grieve for him but then heard about 2 abandoned kittens.
Their Mum had abandoned them but took the rest of the litter. Both are currently being bottle fed by a local cattery.
We have reserved the little boy who will be coming to us when he is strong enough & ready to leave his sister. As you can see from the photo he has an M on his forehead so we think we will name him something beginning with M.
