I know you have probably seen lots of world book day pictures this week, but I really wanted to share my daughters costumes with you as well.
My kids love a bit of dressing up and there seems to be an event every other week where I have to make/buy/create bits for a costume.
This week I was thankful that my youngest daughter Imogen wanted to go as Ruby the red fairy, which is a character we have done before, so I had all the bits handy already.
Jessica wanted to go as Hermione Granger from Harry Potter, I managed to get a costume for quite a bargain on eBay and I created a wand out of an old broken fairy wand, a wooden skewer, some tissue paper and some wire...I think I missed my Blue Peter calling!
The girls were really happy with their outfits and the creations at school were wonderful. This week I have 12 items on special off, with 25% off, some best sellers in there also!
A few weeks ago I mentioned in the news letter that my eldest daughter Jessica belongs to a musical theatre group.
Well in the half term she finally got to perform on stage with them a couple of songs from Matilda and a couple from Annie.
Jessica suddenly got very nervous just before they went on stage. This was the first time they had performed together and in public. The kids were absolutely fantastic and gave it everything, I was a bit emotional watching her perform as she is quite a shy girl, so this was lovely to see.

As its half term my eldest daughter who is 8 gets a little break from homework, but instead my 5 year old has got some.
Its been a nice change helping with some homework that I actually understand without needing a google refresher course first.
I was very impressed with the amount of writing Imogen did, listing fun facts about ladybirds, but my favourite bit of the homework was helping Imogen make a ladybird mask.

Every day I walk Baxter around a field at the end of my road, which he loves as he really enjoys being off lead.
I try to go over there even if it is muddy and bad weather as he just looks so sad if I try to give him a road walk (Puppy dog eyes).
Once a week I take him to the next town, where my girls go dancing as I have to wait for them and so Baxter gets a different field. recently he has wised up to all the best bits to explore and now likes to go through the bushes and head to the farmers field.
He never ventures too far, but I think he likes to pretend he could catch the birds on the field if he wanted to.
He is a cheeky old boy and this week he found some treasure in the ditch...a spade!
He laid down in the mud until I said he could bring it with him, doesnt he look pleased with himself?!

My eight year old Jessica started going to a musical theatre group a few months ago and this month the group have their first public performance.
It is a small show at a community event where they will be singing and dancing to a few songs from Annie and Matilda.
Jessica goes to a lot of clubs, but at the moment this seems to be her favourite and it has been great for building up her confidence, I just cant wait to see what the group have been working on.
I have gradually been getting her costumes ready for the performance, this is the Annie costume I have put together for her, I think she looks super cute, even if she is scruffy.
