My friends have been joining in the fun of spotting the first perennials of Spring. Jack in the Pulpit is my favorite to go hunting for. It is so elusive and hides in our nature center. In my own yard I have many new flowers magically popping up.
This photo is one. I guess I forgot when I planted these bulbs. I think they are a form of a tulip. Each year they become more abundant. After these blooms the start of David takes its place with its lovely white star shaped flower.
What spring garden wouldnt be complete without the lily of the valley and blue bells. Now its time to get the annuals and vegetables planted.

While in the Netherlands we did a lot of window shopping. I took snap shots of window displays. The lacework was fabulous with lovely colored flowers. From these I knew I would be inspired to make a series of cards. I have started with three cards featuring flower lacework.
I also visited the Keukenhof to see the tulips and other spring bulb flowers in bloom. My latest card features the Crown Imperial flower.

We have been in the Netherlands for the tulip festival. The fields have a bit of a disappointment since we are early. Last day we spent 4 hours in the kirtchenhous. Wonderful day among the tulips, daffodils and hyacinth. The colors are breathtaking. Looking forward to getting back to designing.
I have so many ideas for new cutting files from pop ups to lance. Look for new designs after Easter and come back often.

Even though the calendar says we are in spring, and the snow has finally melted, it will be several more weeks before we can get into our gardens.
The robins have been flocking and looking for food. The ducks are looking for nesting ground. And the dog walkers have increased.
Northern Iowa is just now coming out of its last blizzard and hope for NO MORE SNOW.I have been nursing my orchids which have bloomed two years in a row again.
It gives me such delight each morning as I open the blinds to give it the southern sun light. The Netherlands Tulips and Windmills vacation are waiting for me in a few weeks. That surely will bring spring and big ideas for popup cards.

After two years designing with an old Cameo I have purchased the newer version. I look forward to now having two machines I can cut from at the same time. Not sure if it will make me more productive but Im hoping to design ssome great ideas.
Now, I need a few new tools, upgrade my software and then get to know its idiosyncrasies.
