The one in the picture is the Stockman house built in 1908. We also have the Historic Park Inn which is the last remaining hotel he built. I have been trying to design a popup card for several years now of the Stockman home. That is my New Years resolution for 2018.

I hope to have some made for sale at the interpretive center when it opens for the season in May.

My church group called Eat Pray Love meets every other Saturday morning just to talk, have coffee and treats. Our pastor says we Eat, Pray, Love and then Eats some more. A lot of love goes into the projects we do throughout the year.

We have made many banners, shared sorrows and joys, and made holiday cards. This time we made valentine cards which will be distributed by the deacons to our shut-ins.

One of my favorite memories of our trip to France was having dinner in a chefs home.

He took us shopping for all the ingredients for a wonderful lamb chop dinner with blanched pears, fresh herbs from the garden and lots of wine pared with the appetizers, salad and main course.

The best part was meeting his wife and having the meal together. These simple exchanges of culture is what makes traveling so rewarding.

Winter storm warnings close school today. First snow day this season. First we had bitter cold which warmed up to 40s last week end. Today we have ice under snow. Remember when you were a kid and you made snow angels? No - not Snowmen.

My granddaughter made many in our yard. Any empty spot was fair game to make these angels.

It has been below freezing here now for over a week. While taking my granddaughter back to meet her mom we were stalled because of 20+ cars plowing into the ditch during a snow storm.

That was enough to make us reevaluate our next vacation which we were planning on taking in February and driving.

This is what frequent flyer miles are for so we now have tickets. We will be going to Georgia, USA and then down to Florida.

Im sure we will not see the spring colors from last years trip to Holland in April but looking through those pictures sure helps brighten my day.
