Spring finally made it here in Iowa. I think this is the first year we have daffodils and bluebells before the crocus. Needing some color Ive been making cards of flowers. With the good weather will come some traveling.

My daughter and I are planning a week end retreat just the two of us. Good food, good shopping and delicious fudge.

Three snow storms in April has put a damper on our spring. We had rain, hail and then snow while being in a tornado watch all in one day. So Im ready for May to come. Meanwhile, I continue to look at the pictures of spring in Savannah Georgia.

What a lovely place to vacation. The trees are in bloom. The sky is blue. The food and music great.

Last week I had the pleasure of going to the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Mn with my daughter and granddaughter.

My daughter had an American Girl doll when she was young. My granddaughter found it at my house and brought it back to her home.

She is a very special doll, a keepsake, and she was only allowed to play with it once in a while.

She wanted her own and started to save for it. With her Christmas money, pocket change from Papa, and allowance, she finally had enough. We must have spent over an hour looking at the dolls. When my daughter bought hers there were only 4 to choose from.

Now they have over 50 combinations. The doll she chose has brown eyes, black hair, open mouth showing two teeth and a tan complexion. The opposite of this blue eyed blond. Note she also got the matching dress.

I think it is quite unusual for us to have robins the first of March especially during a storm with rain, ice thunder and then snow.

I took this photo from inside the house so it has frozen raindrops on the panes. These are robins eating in our crab tree.

There were over 12 along with chickadees and cacklers at the bird feeder. I filled it and they came. We are all confused since last week we had temperatures in the high 40 F. Today winter is back.

The hurricanes along the eastern coast of Georgia USA this fall caused a lot of vegetation damage on Jekyll Island.

We are on a trip through this area and observed an increase of driftwood on the lovely white beaches.

It was a surreal feeling to see the condition of the beach. The photo shows the upturned eastern oak trees. This is the normal driftwood experience but behind them was the damage to the palm trees.
