This past week end my husband and I visited with other letter press printers from around the world. It was fun catching up with all our friends. The most important part was hearing the stories on others creating beautiful products and saving a dying art form, the letter press.
My husband started printing while still in high school. He has his own hobby print shop with over 3 presses and equipment.

Have you ever been on the Erie Canal? We vacation on a river boat while our friends road their bikes along the canal. Sleeping like camping in small quarters, was a challenge. Move at 5 mph was frustrating. But the memories was worth the ride.
We saw many birds and animals. Met new people at each stop was rewarding. Eating the toughest steak in a little town was unforgettable. Will we try is again and go west on the canal. Probably not. Cheers with wine was the best though.

On my daily walk I found this lone baby robin sitting on the fence. I looked around for the mommy bird before I approach him. His eyes followed me cocking his head from one side to the others. He did not seem afraid of me.
I got with in arms length of him befor I got my phone out. I took several pictures amazed that he just sat ther. I think there will be a card designed with this story in mind.

Last week a few of my friends went to the local area flower auction. There were rows and rows of plants for sale. They sold them by the rack but the bidding price was by the plant. The place was packed with people. Luckily is was a cool day.
We did not bid on anything but found someone who over bought and was willing to let us have a few of theirs.
We planted them at our church in planters.

My daughter and I took a 5 day week end trip and stayed at the Grand hotel. It was a Cinderella experiences. Wonderful food, beautiful room, and great service. We took a horse drawn trolley ride around the island, saw the oldest revolutionary war fort and shopped.
The best part was being with my daughter and recalling childhood stories. Our husbands had a good visit and watched the kids at home. They were glad to see us when we returned.
