Cone flowers are now in full bloom. And notice who is enjoying them. Little bunny loves to hide and runs away from everything. It takes time to get this many buds to fill the area. But now we are enjoying the birds and butterflies that frequent the flowers.
The sunflowers from last week had 4 blooms which are fading. Love this perennial garden.

In the winter time we enjoy watching the birds eat at our feeders. We have various different feeders with something for many birds. This year we did a mixture that obviously was the kind that will germinate. In the spring I had to pull lots of weeds.
But some of them looked interesting so I let them grow. Obviously there were sunflower seeds. I now have four blossoms plus some unusual grasses. Just something else to design cards around.

Every evening when I let the dog out there is a flutter of wings coming from my hanging fern basket on the porch.
At first we thought it was a bat since there were bats hanging under the eaves of the house in the past.
My husband continued to watch and finally decided he saw a tail. We got the basket down. It needed watering when we discovered a perfect nest with 4 tiny bird eggs. We believe it is a house finch nest. The mother is all one color. Kind of gray and has a sweet song.
Ive looked online for photos and songs but she moves so fast we cannot see any markings. The eggs are about an inch long. Guess we will know more once they hatch.

We made a trip to Wisconsin to see Shakespeares Twelfth Night the American Players Theatre. This is a yearly trip we do to see one of the plays. It was a great performance. Love outdoors theatre except when it rains. The second night was washed out.
On our way home we wandered around effigy mounds national monument and enjoyed the view of the Mississippi. Again we got rained on. So happy Fourth of July to my USA customers.

The views from top of the mountains were spectacular. Nice cool weather helps with the walks around the towns. We saw a lot of Norwegian sweaters which sounded good. The best part was treating ourselves to some of the local food items. Breakfast was the best.
Many of the churches were closed. Dont we know it is wedding season?
