It really is winter here. I think we have had 18 frosts in a row. This morning the coldest at -4 Celsius. There are only a few small patches of green grass left for the wallabies and our plants are very unhappy!

This is one of our new pine trees, as you can see it is not at all happy with the weather.

In front of our new wood heater. We are set to get a cold blast from the South over the weekend. I havent looked to see just how cold, I dont want to know.

I can tell you it is very cold in my study so not much designing going on but i have put out a few new Fathers Day kits.

It is windy out but still not too cold, I think i will be out for my walk earlier today though.

-The cooler weather has set in here in the Southern Downs though mostly it is still nice with 18-20 degrees celcius during the days at the moment.

Colder at night so the woodfire has been on.

We have had our first frosts the other week ( one was a minus 5) which naturally shocked all the plants that were still enjoying the warm weather.

We have just had a few rainy days that came out of nowhere. 73mm in 2 days! Mind you when El Nino starts up we will be trying to remember what rain is so....

When we were on our holidays in Victoria we visited some lovely zoos. I did miss out on Melbourne Zoo, the oldest zoo in Australia as it was raining.

But we did get to go to Werribee open range zoo and also Healseville Sanctuary and the new Kyabram Sanctuary where we saw these lovely little fellas.

I absolutely love Meerkats, they are just so funny and sweet.

Here on the Southern Downs in Queensland we are currently still having reasonable warm weather as this Hibiscus shows. We can expect the weather to turn any day now with cold weather and frosts, generally from anytime around Anzac Day 25 April.

We are prepared, before our holiday we ordered a new wood heater and arranged for it to be installed after Easter.

It has only needed to be run to burn off any nasty smells so far.
