Though we seem to be having a fairly mild summer we have encountered a few very hot days of late.
Yesterday I looked outside and saw one of our resident hares stretched out as much as possible to (i think) catch as much of the breeze that had just turned up.
I dont blame him! We hadnt had the cool breeze or the rain that town had only a few kms away.
Being in the country we have quite a diverse amount of birds and wildlife. A number of years ago these cute characters turned up.The Pardalote is quite a small bird and quite pretty and they love hanging out in the Wisteria.
Here is one i captured (with my camera) this morning. We also have blue wrens and other small wrens which live here.
My photo today is of one of the lovely Grevillia flowers that we have here. We try to keep as many native species of Flora as we can to help out the wildlife. We have Grevillia in other colours as well.
The bees were very happily buzzing around when i took this photo but didnt want to land for a close up!

Yep it is that time of the year again. With all the rain weve had this year (except the last few weeks) and about an inch over the last few days everything is looking happy again and it looks like well have a bumper crop of Agapanthus again this year.
Probably still a few weeks off of opening though. Speaking of bumper....my 5 x 7 Christmas bumper kit is currently on sale.
Our power company came many months ago to see if the trees needed trimming but it was too wet to get in and do it.
We have a beekeeper who has hives on our property at times and he recently brought some hives back in from another property that was too wet.
One lot of bees had swarmed in this tree and the beekeeper came out day before yesterday and put them into this box under the tree.
Well, yesterday the power company turned up to cut branches off that very same tree.
They saw the beehive and had decided to come back at another time after it was removed. I told them how lucky they had been to not come in the day before as the bees would have been swarming in the tree when they went to cut it!
