The Great Train Escape

This antique train car made an escape one afternoon. It was sitting on an unused set of tracks across the road, when it, and another car broke loose and crossed the road to the tracks on the other side.

This car tipped over on its side, but there was no significant damage done to it. The tracks used to run across the road, but that was years and years ago. However, there are just enough of the old tracks visible on the road so that the train cars were able to cross to the other side.

There is an entire set of antique train cars on the other side of the road. It is an amazing site to see them through the trees as you drive by. Some of the old cars have been placed in museums to preserve that bit of history.

Recovering From Surgery

The past few weeks have been a quiet time of recovery for me. I had two major surgeries on the same day. It was quite traumatic, but being able to sit at my computer and work on things for CUP was a huge help to me.

It helped keep my mind off the pain, and it helped me get back on my feet quicker. I still have a ways to go in the recovery process, but I thank God that I am getting better with each day that passes.

Our First Grandchild!

Our first Grandchild, a baby girl named Aislynn Rose, was born yesterday (6-26-2018). My husband and I are so happy to be first time Grandparents. They sent us pictures this morning, and she is a precious little angel. Her Mommy and Daddy are very happy, but also very tired.

Baby Aislynn and her Mommy will be going home sometime today. My son and daughter-in-law have a gorgeous nursery all set up for her at home. We live about a 15 hour drive away from them, so we wont get to actually see the baby until later this summer.

So, now I have a new title...

Im now Gam Gams to my new Granddaughter!

Octagon House

I grew up about a half hour's drive from this amazing Octagon house. There is a ghost story that goes along with it. The story claims that a traumatic scene of a young woman being thrown from a horse replays nightly at this former dairy farm built in the 1850s.

The site was turned into a bed-and-breakfast but is now closed to the public. It is now a private family residence. My son attended a birthday party there when he was in elementary school, and I got to see the inside of this historic home.

The family has kept the home is good repair.

Wedding Day

Our son and his fiancé got married on November 21, 2015. It was such a beautiful ceremony. I cried as I watched two young people, that I love with all my heart, exchange their wedding vows. Here is a picture of the happy Bride & Groom.

We have gained a very special Daughter-in-Law. She is beautiful both inside and out. They have just bought their first home, and they are starting out their married life with happiness.
