Can You See The Gardener?

This Garden scene photo was taken at Filey ,on the East Yorkshire Coast. If you look closely you can see a gardener behind the wheelbarrow . The wheelbarrow is a vintage original Victorian one .It was donated by a local person to complete the garden scene.

We are hoping to return later in the year to see how the display changes over the seasons .

Filming Comes To Kingston Upon Hull

Its been quite a surreal week in Old Town Kingston Upon Hull ( Hull) this week. A film crew arrived to shoot a movie called Girls Night Out . Its set in the second world war and stars Rupert Everett.

Hull has been turned into central London for the VE day celebrations . For the first time ever we have red phone boxes. Hull has its own private phone company ,which has always used white phone boxes. it was quite strange to walk around the corner and see a red phone box .

The one in the photo has tape on the windows to stop the glass shattering in the event of bombs.

Seeing all the old cars and costumes has been great. When the film arrives in cinemas we will have to go and see it to spot all the places filming took place

Easter Bonnet Contest

To raise money for our local cancer care charity ,we had an Easter Bonnet and egg decorating contest. It was £1 per entry and a good amount was raised. I made mine from a shiny card ,coloured with promarkers, and streaked to look like straw.

The flowers were made using air drying clay coloured with ink pads. The air dry clay was great because it is so light weight and didn't bend the card . I added the little chick and put a matching clay flower and bow on her .

Sadly we didn't win ,but it was all good fun in aid of a very good cause. Next year I'll take Maisie the Scottie to model my hat for me xxx
