News & Updates from Janet Roberts - Pink Gem Designs · Page 9

I love working from home designing on the computer especially this time of year when the weather gets colder. One of the best things about working from home is that I have my best friend Gem sitting by my side as I work.
I went downstairs to make a cup of tea the other afternoon and when I came back upstairs to my office I found that Gem had jumped in my chair ...... cheeky little minx! Here are two of my latest Christmas designs

Our little granddaughter Mia loves to come and stay with us during the October school holidays. We watch spooky films and make spooky cakes. Here is a photo of Mia making Halloween Crispies.
She loves baking but like most kiddies she likes to clean the bowl and spoon afterwards with her tongue! We had a little fireworks display in the garden later that evening as we ate the cakes. We did of course have to save some for her Mummy, Daddy and little brother

Help I have a mutant dog! This is what happened the other day when I had my seven year old granddaughter and my dog in the back seat of my car.
I opened the car door to let Mia out when I took her back home the other day and this was the site that met me.
Mia had put her spotty eared headband on my little dog Gem. I couldn't stop laughing and just had to take a photograph .... poor Gem!

My lovely Mum and Dad will reach a special milestone this coming Saturday. They will have been married for 60 years and so will be celebrating their diamond wedding. This photo of them was taken this summer on the yorkshire coast where they live.
My Dad is 84 and Mum will be 80 next month but you wouldn't think so. They are so fit and healthy for their age and walk about 3 miles every morning. They really are a pair of diamonds!

Last Winter I taught myself how to crochet by watching youtube videos. I have always been a knitter but never managed to get the hang of crochet. The tutorials on Youtube were so easy to follow and I picked it up in no time at all.
I made lots of hats for the grandchildren like the one in the photo. I made a few owl hats and a fab monkey hat for my little grandson and lots of baby boots.
I am looking forward to doing more now the dark nights are drawing in. I just hope I can remember how to do it :)
