AHhhh ! The sun came out after a miserable few days so we ventured forth to one of our favourite places, Biddulph Gardens near Stoke ( UK ) The dahlias and fuchsias were stunning but best of all I like the Chinese Gardens, shown here in the photograph.
There is a small lake in front but unfortunately I couldnt fit it into my photo. A lovely place certainly worth a visit if you have not been.
My grand daughter came for a couple of days as a treat before school term started again. She had made a list of everything she wanted to do over the summer break. Last thing on her list was a trip to Yorkshire Wild Life Park.
She wanted to see a polar bear and this is the only place in the country which has them. They have a research program involving the polar bears but their enclosure is so big that even though we could see them we didnt manage to get any close up photographs.
They also have enclosures which allow people to walk about amongst the animals, one with wallabies and the one in the photo which shows Sophie and her granddad in the lemur enclosure.
We all enjoyed our trip very much.
Giant frogs have appeared all over the centre of Stockport (UK) where I live. Each frog has been sponsored by Local businesses. Children (and adults ) can follow the trail around Stockport to find the frogs.
These two frogs in the photograph have been painted by some of my friends from my local art group.
I have not been to Portmeirion since I was about 10 years old and my Husband has never been there so to rectify this we went on an outing to see this famous place.
Built on the North Wales coast in 1930s by an architect called Clough Williams-Ellis who used Italian villages as his inspiration to design this quirky place.
It was used in the 1960s to film the TV series called The Prisoner starring Patrick McGoohan. It was packed with tourists from many different countries when we were there, as well as a wedding going on.
The architecture is beautiful. A lovely place to visit.
On a recent trip to Powys Castle in North Wales we were having a snack in the cafe gardens when Mr peacock came to see us to see what he could scrounge.
However he did not come alone.
He also brought Mrs peacock and surprise, surprise they also brought a baby peacock with them. How delightful was that, I have never seen a baby peacock chick before. Unfortunately, no matter how hard I tried I could not get the whole family in one photo.
