I have been doing my bit to help out with NHS and care workers at local old folks homes. These ear protectors stop the face mask elastics from cutting into your ears when the masks are worn for hours on end.

You put them at the back of your head and the elastic attached to the mask goes around the buttons instead of your ears.

They dont take me long to crochet and good for using up all my spare bits of cotton yarn.

My grand daughter is enjoying her time at home while the schools are closed. She does her school work but also has fun with science experiments and crafts and cooking.

This is her Rainbow bread she has mixed different flavours into her bread dough and then put them in the bread tin together.

An interesting combination that might catch on.

Now that the children have to stay at home because of the Covid 19 virus it is a challenge to keep them busy.

My grand daughter ( Sophie ) has been busy experimenting with dying eggs ( hard boiled of course) I was very impressed with these ones as she also made the dye out of natural plants, these eggs were dyed with onion skins and red cabbage.

In these times where we have to socially isolate and are allowed one form of outside exercise each day we are very fortunate that we live near Bramall Hall, Cheshire UK.

It is surrounded by woodland walks, gardens and lakes to walk around which we do each morning.

Bramall as an area was first mentioned in the Doomsday Book in 1086. The original part of house that you can see in the photo was built in early Tudor times. You can still see the wooden pegs used to hold it together before they had nails to do the job.

Various members of the families who have owned it have added on their own parts of the building. As you can see some of it is a bit wonky but other parts are newer.

Last week we thought we would have a ride out to one of our favourite places- Bodnant Gardens in North Wales.

We timed our visit just right to see the magnificent display of daffodils, fields of them looking spectacular. Not to mention the magnolias and camellias all in bloom.

Had we left it a day or two all the National Trust gardens would have been closed so we were very fortunate to have got there in time.

Sadly now no one will be able to see all the beautiful spring flowers. Hopefully if we all do our bit to self isolate this business will be over soon.

I would like to say thank you to all those key workers who are keeping not just my country going but all the other countries too, we would be lost without them.
