My husband and I had a restaurant meal this week to celebrate our first meeting 15 years ago , and spent half the meal admiring this out-of-season cricket who seemed as fascinated by us as we were with him (or her ..
I have no idea how to sex a cricket. He crawled all over our plates, no doubt sampling the food and seemed particularly interested by the wine in my husbands glass.
Were his antennae waving around a little more drunkenly after his drink? Difficult to say!
This week Ive been busy with lots of new designs, including more of my dangle cards, as the weather has been totally miserable here.

I have just received the first of what I am told will be an avalanche of family photos as my brother (very computer savvy) has been trawling through boxes of family photos.
There are photos of ancestors that are totally unknown to me, but it is going to be so exciting trying to find out who people are, especially as my father is no longer with us to clue us in on his family. ...

Last weekend, Lyon hosted the board meeting for Kiwanis International France, and my significant other, being Chief of Protocol, roped me in to play all the national anthems.
I had to learn, in a hurry, the Romanian and Luxembourg anthems.
I was dead nervous especially since hubby had left his uniform back at home so had to race back home (3 hours round trip) to fetch it and arrived back at the venue only minutes before the ceremony was to kick off.
He was a great hit in his uniform (Im very impressed that he could still fit into it 55 years later) and it started the evening off on a fun note.
The photo was taking during the Marseillaise, the blood thirsty, but very stirring French anthem.
Ive been having fun with really cute cards just perfect for ados, so ENJOY and have a good week.
Saturday was my husbands 75th birthday and we were expecting 30 or so people for a party in a local restaurant.
In light of the very unfavourable weather, we had to contact everyone that morning to cancel as we didnt want to be responsible for any friends ending up in hospital.
We had had heavy snowfalls during the night on a ground that had had rain ... the result was REALLY treacherous driving conditions.
We squared off with the restaurant, simply postponing the date, but the cake ... well that had been ordered and made.
I took a photo of my rather glum hubby in the garden with the wonderful creation, just so that you can all see how lovely the cake and the snow looked.
The card I designed for his birthday is now available for all 5 years steps between 40 and 100 years for men, husbands and fathers with a lot of help from a calculator to add in all the leap years to my calculations.
Hubby loved the card and I hope you do too.
As you know we went to take presents and school supplies to a very deprived village in the East of the country, but we started from the town where had our religious wedding.
We returned to the church and to our immense joy the greco/catholic priest who blessing our marriage was there, erecting a huge tree in the church.
He remembered us (well who wouldnt ... a frog and an Englishwoman getting married in Romania ... we even made national news) and gave us his blessing in exactly the same place as he did nearly 5 years ago.
It was an emotional moment as you can image.
And still on the religious theme, as organist in my church I get very upset as the authorities here in France try to ban nativity scenes in public places.
In Romania they have no such problem and I was delighted to see this huge nativity scene in the town square of Oradea.

A card I made for a little girl sick in hospital because I remember how much I loved those dress up doll books where you had to cut out the doll and all the clothes, so I made her a dress up doll card.
It should keep her busy for a while and I hope you enjoy it too. As the date is the 30th, it just remains for me to wish you, Bonne Année 2017. Love Wanda
