Caught on the way up! So close this week.. you can even see the pilots looking at you... This was Hustler and his WSO making vapour over Lakenheath Tuesday afternoon... They came out Late Tuesday due to late night flying with the Aviano F16s..
They played all afternoon up the Mach Loop in wales and also up to lake district to fly low level ..
Id love to catch them low in the mountains but I really dont think I could make the climbIt was really beautiful weather but the haze in the sky wasnt very nice for photos to be honest..Its better when the air is cooler so the haze doesnt spoil the shots..

This week was very busy down at the Heath! Both 48th Fighter Wing and Aviano AFB were playing out till late hours..
Caught quite a few with Burners after a low approach over the Lakenheath Runway.They were also using 06 Runway which meant launching towards us photographers which was a dream to capture...
Normally they run off 2.4 runway which is harder to catch through the fence.Trouble is 06 runway is okay for launches but to catch them land means going to other end of runway and where the parking is very limited its best not to move from your spot..
Moving means you lose your spot and cant get back to a decent place for shots so I rather stay where I am.I caught the 494th Panther Squadron nicely as he came over the runway Low approach...You can see the burn from his tail..

Deployment this week at RAF Lakenheath. Visitors from Aviano Base in ItalySo we had the 510th Squadron of F16 Buzzards and Triple NickelsFull on excersize with quite a few bases in the U.K.
They started late yesterday I actually got to the base for 7.15 and living an hour away made it an early get up time But I didnt really mind its a pleasure when the weather is good and considering we were locked away for 3 months this year its just nice to get out.
We sat for 4 hours before they started to launch but once they did they didnt stop till well into the late evening.

Todays news is obviously aircraft lol. But this one has a fun passenger.
Pilots 3 year old daughter gave him her pet teddy duck to take to work.Its now done 4 sorties and his daughter says it keeps him safe from harmHe now has to take Scoff daily to fly with him.
I caught him nicely in the cockpit looking out at us spotters.I presume he will be doing the night flying too next week.
I do hope he can see in the darkF16s have arrived too from Aviano AFB so will be looking forward to taking photos of them next week
The WSO in the back was over the moon on his return back to base today... First flight, whilst in flight he made his promise the USAF .. All heard on Air comms.. Was nice to get back out again...
All this virus thing has put a damper on everything in life so much so we dont get to do what we want when we want to do it anymore..Such a shame..But hey life goes on and we still have to live our lives..This week I have featured Christmas in my promostions hope you like them..
