Last Sunday was my birthday! I decided to take the next day off of work so that I could really relax. I had a lovely day starting off with some presents from hubby, including a beautiful bunch of flowers.
After a delicious lunch of veggie prawn cocktail, made by hubs, my daughter, son-in-law, granddaughters and Cookie the dog all arrived.
I was spoilt with even more presents including another colourful bunch of pretty flowers, some comfy pjs and some plants for the garden.
All my favourite things! Then they all sang Happy Birthday while I blew out the candles on my Birthday carrot cake.
I really enjoyed a lovely relaxed day.

Oh the drama of Golden Retrievers. I had to give Sam a medicated wash and shower, as he has a skin condition. Sam was sitting in the bath, being a very calm boy. But outside the closed door was a very vocal Billy being an absolute drama Queen!
Once Sam was out of the bath and being dried, he joined Billy in a crying competition through the closed door.
As soon as Sam was free they ran into the garden and had a big play fight, then curled up together to go to sleep, while Sam dried off.

Owning two lively Golden Retrievers, we have to go on many walks. Poor Sam has a skin condition at the moment, so we are trying to keep him out of the sea.
If the weather is dry we can let them run in the country park or nearby field, otherwise, we give them lots of lead walks around where we live.
One of our routes takes us along the seafront towards the pier, through the beautiful gardens that are maintained by volunteers.
They comprise a series of interlinked public gardens, originally laid out in 1921 and refurbished in 1997. Features include a sunken garden, a Mediterranean garden and a rose garden.
I took this lovely photo of Billy posing in one of them.My SALE is on right now! with 20% off of ALL my designs!

You may remember that I told you a few months ago that my son and his family took in another stray kitten (Socks) and after taking her to the vet for a check-up, found out she was pregnant.
Well, a few weeks ago she gave birth to her kittens.
She is staying at one of the foster veterinary nurses houses at the moment, in case anything goes wrong. But it seems like mum and babies are doing well. So Socks will soon return home to our little granddaughter, who is very excited to own two kittens.

We spotted a new post box topper on our walk with the dogs the other day. It has been made to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings on Normandy beach that took place on June 6 1944.
The operation was given the codename OVERLORD.
The topper shows the allied armies coming together. I love seeing the new toppers and learning more about the latest subject. I wonder what the next one will be?
