This week we went for a walk in Inverness Botanic Gardens. The glasshouses have everything from jungle to desert environments and had some fascinating plants. The outside space is divided into a variety of different types of garden, with lots of flowers, shrubs and water features.
My favourite part was the huge wildflower meadow. Although it was late in the season, there were still lots of flowers and beautiful grasses. There are paths mown throughout the meadow which allows for a lovely tranquil walk. I must make a point of going back there in the summer to see the meadow in its full glory.
No trip would be complete without a visit to the cafe for yummy cakes and coffee. I think I have a new favourite place. These are 2 of my new layered front card mini kits. Thank you for looking.
My thirteen month old great granddaughter Niamh started going to nursery this week. Her mum is in college and has managed to get Niamh a place in the nursery. This leaves me with 2 free days a week.
Although it's wonderful having a baby in the house, it hasn't left me with much time for myself. Hopefully, I can now start doing some designing during the day, rather than late at night as I've been doing lately.
The photo shows Niamh relaxing in the park after a hard day at nursery. She loves going to see the ducks.

Last week we had a family day out to the Blair Drummond Safari Park in Stirlingshire. I loved seeing the giraffes, elephants and lions at such close quarters. My one year old great-granddaughter Niamh loved the petting farm. Her favourite was a little pygmy goat.
At one point, we had to stop her from climbing through the fence to go after it! The park is a great place for families with children's playgrounds, a giant sandpit, lots of places to eat and, of course all the beautiful animals.
It was a great day out and one we hope to repeat. These are 2 of my new aperture layer card mini kits.

Same dress, different little girls. My gorgeous great-granddaughter Niamh had her first birthday this week so I wanted to get a photo of her wearing the same dress that her mother wore for her first birthday.
When I put the dress away all these years ago, I didn't imagine it would ever be worn again. Perhaps I've started a new family tradition. Seeing the little one in the dress made me realise how fast time passes. Her first year has gone by in a flash, but that's not surprising since it feels like no time since her mother was the baby in the family.
I've put the dress away again. I wonder how long before it comes out again? These are 2 of my Three Layer Card mini kits. Thank you for looking.
My daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter and I had a trip to the beach at Nairn last week. Although the weather was beautiful, there were only about half a dozen families on the same part of the beach.
I had a lovely paddle in the sea which was quite warm.
Niamh, the baby, was not so keen on the waves. Although we forgot to bring the bucket and spade, I built a sandcastle which Niamh quickly demolished. We finished by going for a lovely lunch together. It was a great fun, giggly day out with my girls. These are 2 of my new gatefold cards. Thank you for looking.
