I was delighted to receive such a lovely trophy for uploading 10,000 photos to the website.
It will join my Crafter of the Year 2011 trophy that you can see behind me. Thank you to Rob, Neil and all the staff at HQ for their help and support and to all the designers who provide such amazing designs to work with.

I didn't know if you would want the photos of us when we first started to write to each other.

Sasha at 18

From September 1964 until August 1971 I had 53 pen pals in all from all corners of the globe. On the 20th July 1968 I received my first letter from a young woman who lived in Czechoslovakia. I was 17 and she was 18.
Her name was Alexandra but she signed her letters Sasha. We are still pen friends although these days it is through email rather than letters. Yesterday I met Sasha for the first time in 44 years when she came to visit Edinburgh. What an amazing day we had.
Neither of us could believe it was actually happening. The Scottish weather was not kind to us although the sun did come out briefly when we were at Stirling Castle.
We also visited the Wallace Monument and you can see it in the distance ? growing out of the top of my head.
We also briefly paid a visit to the Bannockburn Monument and the Falkirk Wheel. We went to the Boathouse Restaurant on the Forth and Clyde canal and had a lovely meal.
Sasha?s partner Alan insisted they pay for the meal but I told him the wonderful story of how I had won the BobPot and the meal was all thanks to Crafty Bob. A fantastic day that will stay with us forever.

I would like to say a great big thank you to all the designers who gave their votes to me in the latest Crafter of the Year 2011 competition. I feel very honoured that they liked my work and will endeavour to continue to make cards from their wonderful designs for the rest of this year and beyond. I have been making cards for over 10 years but it is only since I joined this website that my card making has been taken to new heights and I have the designers to thank for that. Keep up the good work and happy crafting everyone. Margaret
