The Kelpies are a monument to horse powered heritage across Central Scotland. They tower above the Forth & Clyde canal and form a dramatic gateway to the canal entrance on the East Coast of Scotland.

Sculpted by Andy Scott, each of The Kelpies stands up to 30 metres tall and each one weighs over 300 tonnes.

They are constructed of structural steel with a stainless steel outer skin.

This stainless steel skin reflects the light of the day, and the night, and makes for an amazing sight in all weathers. The two massive horses' heads are positioned either side of a specially constructed canal lock and basin. I am very fortunate to live near these amazing structures and if you ever visit Central Scotland they are well worth seeing.

Hi everyone. I would once again like to thank all the designers and card makers who have been a tremendous support to me over the last seven months of my cancer treatment.

A big thank you too to Rob and Neil and all the admin staff for their support and encouragement. I am happy to say that I am now cancer free but still have a lot of treatments ahead of me this year to make sure the cancer does not return.

Currently I am undergoing radiotherapy and have encountered no problems so far.

I have another five weeks ahead of me and I am sure it will be fine. I have a lot of cards in my reserve and will make as many as I can when I am able so apologies to the designers if I take a wee while to make their lovely designs into cards.

I keep saying I will not buy any more but then more gorgeous designs appear and I buy and buy. My hair is growing and as soon as I can I will have my photo taken with my wonderful trophy.

Winning the Crafter of the Year was the best start I could have had to 2014. Here are two of my favourites. It was so difficult to choose just two as all the designers are really excelling themselves this year.

A fantastic start to a New Year. I would like to thank all the designers who voted for me, and those who didn't, as without their wonderful designs we crafters would not have such beautiful cards to make. Looking forward to a busy 2014.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer on the 14 August and can tell you it was a huge shock. This was picked up in a routine mammogram so please ladies don't ignore these. I wouldn't have known I had this if I had not gone along when requested.

However, with all the wonderful messages and support I have had from many crafters and designers I am sure I will get through this and return to good health. I started my chemo today and all is well so far.

Fingers crossed for the next 4 months. I intend to continue with my cardmaking as it gives me so much pleasure but there may be times I am not quite up to it so apologies in advance to any designers whose cards I may take a wee while to make and upload. Please remember me in all your good wishes and prayers and I will be eternally grateful.

In early March my husband and I travelled to Sao Paolo in Brazil to visit our daughter Laura. We had a lovely time there and Laura took us to Rio de Janeiro for a few days. We visited the Christ Statue and Sugar Loaf Mountain. Amazing.
