What!!!! A Selfie!!

Just have to share this selfie with you, Lucy, my granddaughter was rocking herself and when she was as far forward as she could be, shed click the phone and take a picture of herself.

She was amazing to watch. Shes only 18 months old.

Here she is taking selfies before she can even talk. What a darling. I looked up selfies on the Internet. Most are taken to go on Facebook and the word has even got itself into the dictionaries. In fact in 2013 the Oxford English dictionary announced that Selfie was word of the year.

It seems that nowhere is guaranteed to be selfie free. Off the planet Buzz Aldrin took the first out in space selfie in 1966. Its estimated the photos taken by people aged 18-24, 30% of them are selfies. I wonder how many are taken by babies under the age of two.

Starwars At The Diabeties Run

When the run for raising money for Junior Diabeties was finished my Grandchildren had something to eat and went off and got their faces painted.

There were quite a few different tents doing different things, to help raise money for JD. They had a great day.

When it was almost over there were a few unexpected visitors that arrived. The youngest, Kieran (aged 3), was not at all sure about it and was a little frightened at first. He soon settled down when he saw that everyone was happy about them being there. It was an exciting end to a lovely day. My Granddaughter raised £197. Well done Bella

Type 1 Diabetes

Last Sunday my daughter and family went on a sponsered walk to raise money for JDRF, the juniors arm of Diabeties UK.

They had a great time. My Granddaughter got diabeties when she was 4 years old.

She is 6 now and she went onto the stage before the sponsered walk. She held the letter J and was to say I am Isabella and I am 6. I am what Diabetes Type 1 looks like. When she got up there she became very shy and my daughter has to say it to her.

The picture shows Bella with her medal for compleating the alk. Afterwards they went to Thomes Land.JDRF Celebrates Historic Artificial Pancreas Success Bringing Life-changing Benefits to People with Type 1 Diabetes.

If you Google this title you can see the full article. They have had a green light to use an artificial pancreas system.

Sufferes that have one of these will have much more peace of mind with the control of diabeties. They are still working toward looking for better and better systems. Thumbs up JDRF!!!!

Here Boy.....

It was a really exciting time for my two oldest grandchildren. They were taken for horse riding. Most places will not accept a 3 year old but one was found after some searching.

It as a lovely place with plenty of other entertainment for children, so people can make a day of it.The highlight was the horseriding.

It had been a treat for Bellas birthday. The organisers put the children on the horses and they walked round with the childfen to make sure everything was alright.

They loved it.

Afterwards they went off to play on the play areas that was nice a big with a large fence round to make sure they were kept safe.

Close by was a cafe so parents can get a much needed cup of tea.

Land Of The Giants

I remember when I was a child watching a great program called Land of the Giants. It was about a small group of Little People trying to make thier way in a big persons world.

They had to be careful though not to be caught otherwise something bad might happen to them. They would be away from the other little people, for a start. I loved the program. When I saw this picture of my 3 year old Grandson, thats exactly what I thought of. He was on holiday in Wales ith my daughter and the rest of the family.

They had a great holiday and the weather was fantastic for them. My favorate TV program of all times, even better than what we get on Sky TV was The Champions. We only had 3 TV channels in those days
