Here's a little baby blackbird that I captured on camera through my dining room window. It was born in a nest built in a massive bay bush in my vegetable garden. Sadly, the bay has had to be severely cut back, but not until all the babies were safely fledged.

And there are still lots more places in my garden for the birds to nest next time. New pretty french corset designs this week - shaped card mini kits - five of them on sale!

It was my goddaughter's prom this week and a group of her friends met at her house to be taken to the ball in a stretched white limousine.

Don't they all look grand in their finery?

Mmmm, at that age, I don't even think we had an end of term party. How things change. Here's my two very latest designs, featuring beautiful brides.

A fascinating site on a recent visit to the local museum of steam, on a show Sunday. There were several steam driven vehicles to see. Here's the Foster Showmans, all polished and gleaming with steam engine working.

Aah, the smell of steam engines takes me back to my childhood when we used to visit an aunt and uncle whose garden backed onto a railway line and bridge.

My brother and I used to run to stand on the bridge when a train came along, to be enveloped in the steam and smoke as it passed underneath.

There was an excellent show nearby on Sunday and one of the highlights for me was a tent of owls, large and small, cute and unusual, but all so beautiful.

Staying with the owl theme, here's two of my owl based cards.

It?s limbs all torn from the day it was born, for the tree was born in a thunderstorm." Walking on the Essex coast, I saw these trees and was transported back to my childhood to Follyfoot and the theme tune, The Lightning Tree, just popped into my head.

Here's a little background: The series, which was filmed on the Harewood family estate, was set at a home of rest for horses.

Despite an apparent appeal limited to young girls with an equine interest, Follyfoot was actually aimed squarely at the teenage market and often had challenging things to say about the treatment of horses and animals generally in British society.

The ethos of Follyfoot generally was to give another chance to both horses and people who had been rejected by the rest of society.

Wow - heady stuff for teenagers of the era, I was 14 at the time...
