News & Updates from Carol Sear

As most of you know I have returned from Spain to live in UK, and have now settled into my new home.
It has been a hectic time and fortunately everything should be finished before Christmas with my garden.
During the time that the works have been going the builder has made a friend. A robin and his mate, unfortunately no photo of the mate but one of the robin sitting in the willow tree that has now gone.
He is so cute and has been feeding on the grubs out of the garden while the work has been going on and I swear he is nearly double his size.
Just one of my breed of dog and the time of year

This is my eldest Yorkshire Terrier (Jack) or to be precise Blancville Cuts a Dash, but he hasn't been a show dog for two yeas now and has enjoyed his life in Spain doing what he loves best.
Finding somewhere cosy and warm to curl up and go to sleep.
I left my dressing gown on the sofa the other morning and he was there like a shot. Mind if I am not quick enough at night he will jump into bed and take up as much room as he can before I have the chance to get in.
Then I have a problem getting him out and into his basket that he normally sleeps in, and has done since he was flown over from the UK.
Spoilt is he, NO, well maybe a little. I love cats and dogs so thought I would carry on with the theme of the day. Although it is over 30 years since I have had a cat.

This daily event probably happens in many a household. Feeding time for the dogs who rule in an animal lover?s home. Both dishes are placed on the floor for inspection and sniffs are done to see if it contains the delight of the day.
One dog walks away to see if the other will dive in when she has completely eaten hers, and watches at a safe distance ready to dive in.
When the first has eaten the other decides to give the food a try, but again still plays as if he does not want the food until the dog that has eaten tries to get her nose in for the kill.
Then the second bowl is finished off with gusto.
It always has amazed me that the girls of the breed want the best of both worlds. Hope you enjoy my ditty of a story. Two completely different CUP cards of mine, one obviously for my breed of dog.

Everybody else here was growing lemons, but us. Lemon area of Spain and no tree. So two years ago we bought a baby tree. Nurtured it, talked to it, watered it, fed it. NOTHING. The little babies all fell off. So got fed up with it and left it.
During the last year it has grown and grown and taken over a small part of the small garden. Couldn't see anything but leaves, and thorns. Then low and behold a lemon appeared as if stuck on with glue. (Thought the other half had stuck it on with my silicone glue).
Looked closer and there it was our first baby lemon.
It is still very green but has the appearance of going to stay put and flourish. Just hope and pray now that if we get a thunderstorm the wind will not blow it off. Welcome baby lemon!!!!!!

My daughter and grandson are here at the moment and yesterday started out wet but within an hour the sun had come out, so we all decided to go the Safari Park at Elche, Spain.
What a fun day we had.
The temperature was nice and it was sunny all day. I got roaped into have a snake draped around my neck for a photo. He decided he liked my necklace and started to creep around to get it, and what a tough job I had to hold his neck back.
But I was amazed at how soft his skin was and how small his head was compared to the rest of his body.
I think it was a python. My grandson held an American parrot and had his photo taken with that. A good reminder. The day was good, plenty for children go-karts, smaller cars, trampolines and much more.
We were all exhausted at the end of the day, and today I am suffering with my leg, but I should given in and hired a wheelchair.
Also all the helpers and assistants can speak about four languages which was excellent.
