Sorrento, Italy

A few months ago we had to cancel our holiday because we thought my husband had appendicitis. After a few weeks of tests they decided it was a virus. To make up for this we booked another holiday to Sorrento, Italy.

We drove down the Amalfi coast on a bus which was quite scary with all the bends and shear drops.

Then had a lovely boat trip back. What a beautiful scenic coastline. If you look at my photograph you can see Mount Vesuvius in the background.

Clematis

My husband and I are both keen gardeners so we were quite upset when last year our favourite clematis died so we had to put a new one in.

We were amazed when it flowered this year.

As you can see not only are there loads of them, they are like dahlias. I have never seen such big clematis or so many on one plant.

Miss Mouse

It is amazing what you can make if you look through your craft stash. I came across an old pattern for a stuffed mouse I had not used since my daughters were small. I often used to make them as presents for my daughters friends for birthday presents etc.

They were always delighted to receive them as they were all dressed individually so no-one had one the same. Then I tackled my fabric store. Now I have two fully clothed mice without me spending any more money. I might put them in a craft sale but if they dont sell I will put them away until Christmas for my grand daughter.

Cancelled Holiday

Last week I should have been in Valencia (Spain) but unfortunately a few days before we were to go my husband ended up in Accident and Emergency with suspected appendicitis.

The doctors decided it wasnt appendicitis but he was very uncomfortable for a few days and still is not quite right but it meant our holiday insurance would not cover us but best not to go out of the country anyway.

After a few days he felt Ok and was a bit miffed that he wasnt in Spain. So we booked a few days in Staithes on the Yorkshire coast. We had a few relaxing days away from home. He is feeling a lot better now, must have been a bug.

We can always go to Valencia again another time.

Bells Paddock

I have written about Bells Paddock before. Kindly donated be Mr Bell in the Victorian era to the local community to add green space to the city.

It changes so much in the spring time.

At the beginning of the year it was snowdrops, then the crocus came , now it is the beautiful daffodils.

Such a lot of colour over a few months. It is only a corner of green space but I am sure Mr Bell would be very proud if he could see the amount of pleasure this small piece of land brings.
