ED174 Christmas
Stitching with beads
Photographs from the Community (3)
Thank you Emy, for this beautiful and so easy Christmas design you have made available for purchase. I copied the design onto a background sheet, Holly Paper, cup735376_16808, a design by Chris Wells West, which I have cut at 13.75cm x12.75cm.
I have used green polyester and red polyester threads for the floral corner, swirls and the main circle. I have used a fine metallic gold thread for the inner circle. I completed the stitching before attaching the beads. The 17 beads on the gold inner circle are tiny pale green pearl 0.2mm round beads. The 3 red metallic beads are 0.5mm rice beads.
Four of the 6 glass green 0.6mm tube beads have a tiny pearl round bead attached. For the buds at the end of the 2 smallest swirls, I have used one pearl round bead and one clear green glass 0.4mm bead.
In total I have used 32 beads.
As the holly paper has given this delightful design a background, I have left the centre blank, and added a red peel off glitter reindeer leaping into the circle.
To make this finished sheet into the greeting card, I backed the stitched side with a blank white sheet cut at 13 x 12 cm to help secure the stitching and beading threads and then defined the front 4 edges with a gold metallic pen.
The green backing sheet is cut at 15x 14cm, the edges of which are defined with the gold metallic pen.
I have D.S. tape throughout to matte all the sheets onto the main card which is an ivory coloured card cut at 29 x 17.5cm, the edges of which are all defined using the gold metallic pen.
I used the green backing sheet and used a strip of the holly paper cut at 7.5cm x 1.75cnm to attach the peel off sentiment an d attached this to the lower centre of the card front.
I added a circle of stars to the top left hand corner and a sprinkle of tiny stars running down the left hand side of the card front.
To complete the insert I have used the Christmas Lace Effect, cup814313_79993, a design by Clare Walker, cut at 28x17cm and used a free verse from the Christmas list for friends.
I punched snowflakes and trees using a tiny decorative punch on 3 sides, and coloured a green strip and 2 gold strips to attach to the back of the verse sheet for embellishments and defined the edges with a gold pen.
I attached a red Sentiment and some Christmas peel off embellishments. I am delighted with the result, and know I will use this design for a Christmas greeting card for many more Christmas’ years to come.
