I have chosen to use these Golden bells with the mauve trim in a card topper incorporating the stitching pattern, cup 894423_1549, in a purple and gold Christmas greeting card.
I have a friend who loves the purple and gold she uses to decorate her tree each festive season and these 2 designs made a perfect choice for me to use her favourite colour scheme for Christmas.
I used a mixture of polyester, cotton and embroidery floss, in single threads to complete the main part of the pattern.
The pale green is cotton thread, the golden yellow and the mauve and purple are both embroidery floss.
The 28 purple glass seed beads were clear glass beads, which I coloured with a permanent pen.
I used 2 gold metallic 6mm rice beads, 3 gold metallic 8mm rice beads, 2 pale green seed beads, 2 dark green seed beads, I pearl gold tiny round bead, 1 tiny pearl green round bead, I purple round iridescent purple bead, 2 gold metallic sequins and 1 round gold 5mm bead which I have stitched inside the paper leaf shaped bead, I have made to use as part of the hanger for the bells.
Altogether I have used 44 items of different types of beading, to complete this project. I used the step by step method to complete the bells and mounted them onto a purple backing sheet, using padded D.S tape for each step.
I have also added tiny green satin bows to 2 corners, a purple ribbon vertically under the topper before attaching it to the purple backing sheet and used Gold dust Glitter effect onto the purple backed topper before attaching it to the 15cm square card front.
I attached the purple bow last of all. The pattern is copied onto a mauve version of Christmas lace effect, cup814313_79993, a design by Clare Walker, which I have used many times in backing sheets.
I have also altered the colour to be a darker mauve for the insert, and added an extra bell and a small ribbon tie.
I have also completed a second card using the same pattern, as a birthday card and used 41 beads in completely different shades and 6 different shades of thread, to complete this project.
The stitching pattern is easy to complete, and in both cases I have alternated the stitch colouring every couple of lines, using both the threads in the vertical and horizontal stitching for 3 lines each time.
The design is universal and suits every occasion depending on background and colour scheme as these 2 cards show, and I thank Emy, for this delightful and easy design.
