When we brought our car about 12 months ago, the headlights were dull and cloudy. We purchased a kit that was supposed to clean them and bring them back to new.
Every day for 3 days I spent ages gently sanding them with the sandpaper that was given, putting on the polish and polishing as per instructions.
I had some success and they did come up a lot better. But the headlights still were far from looking new and it was really starting to bug me. So last week on Market Place (FB) I saw an ad for headlight resoration.
The before and after photos looked amazing so I contacted the place. Yesterday the man came out and within an hour hed finished. Well I was absolutely gobsmacked at the difference when hed finished. They looked brand new and sparkling!
Im just over the moon with how they look now and Im going to get him back to do the grand daughters car as wed tried polishing those too but with limited success.
Cat! I tell you this cat can sleep anywhere she wants in this house but no, she picks some odd spots to stretch out or hide.
Now that the days are cooler her new spot is inside the back door where she is getting a little bit of morning sun.
At the moment her usual daytime bed is on one of the chairs under the table. Every so often we wont be able to find her and the hunt is on. When we go out she migrates into the bottom space of the cabinet where we have the TV or on top of unpacked boxes in the rumpus room.
Another spot she likes is on the bath mat in front of the shower in the ensuite. Why dont we have a cat that likes doing normal things like on the bed or on a chair?
Well our Renos continue and today saw the Attic Ladder put in.
The manhole into the ceiling is a bit squeezy to fit through and climbing a ladder to get into the ceiling was difficult for everyone besides the fact that the ceiling is cracked and I worried about the whole thing giving way.
We have to replace that ceiling so we thought why not do away with the manhole and just put a proper ladder in.
So today the man came and put this new attic ladder in.
Attic Ladders are becoming very popular here now and although we only wanted it for ease of access to the roof, people are putting floors into the ceiling and using the space for storage.
I think they are a great idea……. And so does the cat. She was very interested when we pulled it down and wouldve loved to get up into the ceiling and go exploring.
We did spoil all her fun though and put it back up before she got the chance to try it out!
This morning when I got up and went outside the two yards opposite us were full of Corellas. The most weve seen together here. I counted them as best I could as more were still arriving but I easily counted 100.
Corellas are a member of the cockatoo family and are found all over Australia. They are seed eaters and often seen in groups eating the grass seed. They are white with a bright blue area around the eye.
They do have a crest although not as pronounced as the yellow crest on the common cockatoos and weve found them to not be as destructive as the common cockatoo although in some areas they are pests.
The scientific name for Little Corella, Cacatua sanguinea, means Blood-stained Cockatoo and refers to the dark pink markings between the eye and the bill.Id much rather have 100 Corellas than 100 Cockatoos as they usually just eat the grass seed where the cockatoos will try and destroy things.
In Hervey Bay the cockatoos chewed the bird feeders to shreds where the corellas would just sit and pick the grass and seed that we threw down.
But it sure was a sight to see so many of the Corellas together this morning.
On 1st March, there were some huge fires happening to the north west of us out at Miles. Miles is about 340 kilometres from here and the fires had been burning for nearly two weeks.
Crews from all over Queensland were out on deployment fighting these fires but the skies let us know just how big and fierce they were.
Every evening we had these blood red sunsets caused by the smoke in the air being blown eastward. It really did make for some spectacular sunsets. The fires caused Leave Now warnings several times as they raced towards homes as it travelled through the country side.
Fortunately they are all out now but sadly several homes and sheds were lost. The country out there is mostly unpopulated on the big properties so in that respect it was good that it wasnt more heavily populated and is mainly grazing properties.
