We are looking after the grand daughters partners dog for a few weeks. Partners father who normally has the dog is in the process of moving house so until then weve had Tank here.
The kids said he was the biggest softie and wed love him and once he got to know us, yes he is a big softie.
Hes beautiful. Loves the cats and sleeps with grand daughters cat on their bed at night.
We brought him a big bone to keep him occupied during the day while the kids were at work (he does miss them when they go in the mornings and does the odd howl although he is getting better as he realizes they do come home at night time), and we showed the cats before giving to Tank.
Cats were a bit puzzled but the dog showed them how its done. Hes been chewing on it for a couple of days now and forget the toys, the bone is the focus now.
Going to miss him when he goes because he really is a gorgeous loving boy.

Finally after a blistering hot summer, high humidity and lots of rain, the weather is finally starting to cool down at night time and in the mornings.
Its been hard to sleep at night with the heat in particular but temperatures are now down to the point where we start to pull the winter woolies out.
Same too with the fur babies. We tried out a coat on the grand daughters cat this morning and although at first she was a little wary of it, she got used to it fairly quickly and seemed to appreciate the warmth.
We only put it on her for about half an hour as now the sun is up its warming up pretty quickly.
However getting her used to it now before the bitterly cold winter days come is what we want. Mornings here in winter will get down to minus figures in winter so need her to be comfortable with her little coat.
Our other feline furbaby just stays in bed under the covers during the night and in the mornings and shes a little on the larger side so finding a coat for her is not as important.
Shes a little princess and knows our bed is the best place to be on those cold mornings.

My son and his family are at the end of their amazing holiday to the east coast of the US and Canada.
In fact as I write this they are on the plane home.
Theyve had the most fantastic time, sampling new foods, and seeing sights that until now have only seen on TV.
Times Square in New York where we watch every New Year with the ball dropping to herald in a new year, going to NASCAR races (that was a must for my son and his son), going to a baseball game, seeing The Lion King stage show and then up to driving across the US Canada border into Canada. (We watch Border Force!!
I did ask him if we should expect to see them on the show in the future. But no - very uneventful crossing). Ottawa and Toronto and on the way back going to Niagara Falls and taking the boat ride right up to the falls.
They then went to another NASCAR race before flying over to Los Angeles to catch the plane home. Theyve sent lots of photos and the smiling faces show how much they were enjoying themselves. The Easter Bunny even found them all that way from home. So glad they got to experience so much on their holiday.

To meet your mother! Last week hubby and I flew to Sydney so I could introduce him to my Birth Mother. Previously it was myself and both or one of my kids that came down with me. We flew down on Wednesday and stayed at the Mantra at the airport.
Couldnt have given us a better room as it was on the 5th floor and overlooked the airport. I love my plane spotting so plenty of entertainment for me. First thing Thursday morning we headed off to the Aged Care and spent a wonderful two and a half hours with her.
We left so she could have her lunch (they were having a BBQ lunch) and we headed off with my cousin to their place which is across the road from the beach.
Of course I had to get the sand in my toes and the wind in my face but the water was a bit nippy to do too much paddling.
We stayed at cousins for the night and then Friday we went and visited BM again as she had asked if Id come back.
OF COURSE I WOULD. Another two hour visit and then it was off to the airport to head home. Short trip but a wonderful trip. Oh and BMs verdict on hubby…….hes a bit quiet. If she only knew lol Happy Easter everyone.

While my son and his family are tripping around the US, he is calling into police stations and fire stations (I think in the US they call them fire house) as with daughter being a police officer and me in the fire service here.
Being that those in emergency services world wide are one family, he is making sure he visits and sends us photos.
So far he has been to both in Miami and they have just visited New York. He spread his wings a little and sent photos of the lifesaving tower in Miami too.
They visited the 911 memorial also and said its a lovely tribute (and sad) to those who lost their lives in that horrible attack.
Bit of a weather change from Miami to New York and they said it was quite chilly in NY. Their next leg of their trip is to work their was to Montreal and then on to Ottawa.
I am going on my own little trip tomorrow down to Sydney for a few days. Our family is certainly on the move at the moment.
