I Want........

To be a cat. Look at this little cutey! She sure has the life. Wakes me up about 5am so I can let her out of the bedroom. She goes loo and then has a munch on her kibble and within 20 mins shes back on the bed.

So as hubby and I get up and go about her day, where does she spend the day? Curled up (or stretched out) on our bed only venturing out at lunch time to see if there is any tasty morsels to be had.

If not its back to bed.

She comes out again around 4.30pm trying to tell us its dinner time but she has to wait till just after 5pm for her dinner.

She is good on the weather forecasting though. If she washes over her ears guaranteed to rain within 48 hours. Lately its rained the day after we see her washing over her ears. So what a life she has…..sleep, eat, repeat!

Baby Sitting

Last weekend we had the pleasure of babysitting one of our fur grandbabies while our daughter was away enjoying a weekend of paddle boarding and exploring Lake Wyeba in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

This was a birthday present from a friend for her 40th birthday.

Although Jaylee has been down here for day visits with her mum, she hasnt stayed for a few days so we werent sure how our cat would accept her.

Well turns out Jaylee is scared of cats so although our cat was on guard, there was no problems at all.

She is used to sleeping in the bedroom at home but we werent sure how itd go with our cat on the bed and Jaylee on her bed in the room but amazingly there was no issues.

The grand daughters cat that also lives here was a different story. Apart from meal times we didnt see her for the whole 4 days Jaylee was here! She managed to find some well hidden hiding spots.

It was great having Jaylee here, she knows Nanny will always play ball with her so every time I went near the door, she was there with the tennis ball.

As her home yard is very small, she did enjoy our huge back yard and it became more of an adventure because the ball could be thrown in many directions.

I think now we will have her a lot more often when the daughter wants to go away.

Im not complaining because we love her - she is a gorgeous girl.

Sydney Trip

Last week I had to go to Sydney for a surgical procedure. The procedure isnt done in Queensland so it wasnt such a pleasure trip but a necessity.

I had to have a biopsy done where they take a piece of muscle from the top of my left leg so I was bandaged up and hobbling (and in pain) the whole time.

However the hospital is only streets away from where my birth mother is so I couldnt pass the opportunity to pop round and see her.

I brought her flowers as I usually do when I go down, in her favourite colours of course.

I required a wheelchair to navigate the airport on the way home and the staff were absolutely brilliant. First to board the plane and then when we landed back home they had one waiting at the door of the plane for me.

The one in Brisbane was so cool as the staff lady stood at the back and operated it.

She zoomed round the airport right to the car where hubby was waiting to pick us up. My daughter came with me as my carer so it was great to have the help and she got to see her grandmother again too.

Im not supposed to do much walking for another week and no strenuous exercise/work for 6 weeks. Frustrating but its nice being waited on !!!!

Memories

I have to say that social media has its pluses and minuses but what I love on the FB socials is the memories it brings up.

This photo popped up this morning and it brought up a few memories. Taken in 2012 it was me at Cirque du Soleil.

The bag Im holding is a Crafty Bob Bag I had sent to me. Back in the day they were available at the Craft Shows when Craftsuprint had stalls at them. Being I couldnt go to those (bit far from Aus to UK) I got a shirt and a bag.

I lost absolutely everything (photos included) a couple of months ago when my external hard drive crashed and nothing was able to be retrieved so to have things pop up in memories and the photos Id put up on my page is a blessing really.

I still have my Crafty Bob bag and although I dont use it I still have it as a memory.

Early Spring

Last week I wrote about wanting spring to come early after some cold and frosty weather.Well I think my plants heard me.

The Gerbras are flowering as is the Crucifix orchids and some bromeliads. Most exciting is my King Orchids!

When we moved 3 years ago they not only got disturbed by having to remove them but they got knocked around a bit in our travels.

Ive been hoping theyd survive and pick up and although I had a flower spike last year it seemed they were still struggling.

I am so excited this year as between the two plants I have at the moment 9 spikes coming out.

There is the possibility of a couple more that Im not sure about at the moment but to have 9 so far is fantastic.

I will post down the track when they are all out as they truly do have magnificent flowers.

So I think with this weather and my wish for an early spring it is fantastic that the garden will be looking great even before our official spring which is not until September.
