Placid Lassie! Daks Over Normandy

Here we have one of the Dakotas that did the flypast for the D-Day75th Anniversary. I went to Duxford on Tuesday to witness the flypast trial run...

What a beautiful display it was too.. here was just one of the Dakotas taking part Placid Lassie, She was built in 1943 in Long Beach, California by the Douglas Aircraft Company as a C-47.

She was Army Air Force order number AC-20669 .I was very privileged to see all that were to attend the Daks over Normandy flypast in honor of the D-Day invasion to honor the veterans and Memory of fallen troops that gave their lives so we could have our freedom!Always remember they gave their todays for us to have our tomorrows ..

Eagles Nest!

Another Jet photo I can hear you say!

Well they take up most of my time nowdays hahaha. this one taken last week sees the Eagles lined up ready to be checked over and one just moving over to the runway to launch! They look so small is this photo but I can assure you they are quite large in life and making a roaring sound when they let their afterburners loose.

This was the second spate of launches last Thursday and my god did they make some noise.. They are now getting ready for the D-Day celebrations so will see the Heritage jets next take to their flypast very soon

Heritage Jet

This is the second of three Heritage F15s.. This one belongs to the Grim Reapers. at RAF Lakenheath .

Each of their sqaudrons has a different colour already for the flypast for D-Day 75th Anniversary .An F-15C Eagle painted in the heritage colors of its P-47 Thunderbolt predecessorIt was a pleasure to see this one launch!

Was the last one I had to catch..

And as it happens it flew twice the day I caught in on the camera. So I have all three Heritage jets now and I am so excited to catch them all together for D-Day flypast along with a few othersAll files in all formats for all machines https://www.craftsuprint.com/tina-fitch/

F16 Viper Fun!

Yes you guessed it another fun filled day at RAF Lakenheath on Wednesday 13/05/19! F16s from Homestead Air Reserve Base ... Located in Miami–Dade County, Florida And home to the 482nd Fighterwing. are currently on deployment to Lakenheath to train with the 48th Fighter Wing F15s..

We visited Wednesday and my what a day it was too.Full sunshine all day and was quite warm but the air power coming out of the base was immense!

They were low they were fast and outright lethal in the sky.. They came out so low and fast that vapour poured from the wings and yet they were only 1500 feet from take off if that..

I have never seen such fun since RIAT last July..

My god they put on such a performance..In one shot I have the pilot waving on his flexing out of the base just after take off amazing to be acknowledged from the sky..But I have chosen this shot for this weeks post..

I just love it and it shows off how stunning they are in the sky with all that vapour pouring from the wings..Hope you like it as much as I do...Thanks for your continued support.

Our Pilots

Yeah.. Here we have our pilots that amused us on the 26th April on our special base visit to RAF Lakenheath!

I cant thank them enough for the superb hospitality they shared with us that day and how close we got to some amazing aircraft. Some were on their way to launch just passed where we stood to take this shot, so we felt the heat from them engines and if we had been standing behind them they would have blown us over I am sure.I wont name the pilots as that would be fair but one of them just gained his flying wings and this was his first flight.. well returned flight should I say...

On taking it I couldnt help but think of the Top Gun scene LOLThats all from me this week.. Lots of new designs added and as always in all formats
