Notebooks

I ordered some notebooks from Crafty Bob to give as stocking fillers.

I have had such fun with them I wanted to share with you and maybe inspire some of you to do the same.As some of you may know I am having trouble with my eye sight at the moment, going stir crazy not being able to make cards without a great amount of concentration.

Lines have a way of being curvy, very confusing. Any way, these little books have been my saving grace, I have even ordered some more to play with. Thank you to all you designers and crafters for so many delightful images in the gallery I love all your work.

It is a wonderful time of year Autumn, Halloween and Christmas, gives me a plethora of images and colours to browse.

Mills And Boon

After reading Vicis mail in the last news I just had to reply. What a wonderful couple, your husband is handsome enough to be a Mills & Boon hero, loving, kind generous and caring.

I have know doubt there are a million more husbands the same out there, you fortunate ladies. I love the way you write your story, catches and keeps my attention completely. So thank you for all the mail you send and I am sure there are many people out there that feel the way I do.

I have not been around much these past few months, it has been one thing after another. You have always been in my thoughts. So many excellent designers and crafters many new to me,but a delight to follow. Last but not least, your pound shop Crafty Bob is wonderful, I know I will be diving in periodically, so many bits and bobs to tempt me.

Thank you.

A Big Thank You

As some of you know I have been really ill these last three to four weeks. The messages I have received here and on facebook have really touched my heart. So many people have stopped by and said, get well and written words of such kindness.

I wanted to say a very big thank you to you all, and where better than in the mailer. I also wanted you to see the present my eldest sister gave me.

I was overwhelmed, who wouldn't be with sentiments like these. So a very big THANK YOU to you all ,your messages are very much appreciated. Susan xx

Seals.

Seeing Sheila Rodgers picture of the seals on the island has prompted me to show you our seals here at Donna Nook.

When I first went to see them they were in the dunes and on the shore, and you could walk among them.

One year a stupid person tried to stroke one and was bitten for her troubles. After that the fence went up to make it safe, but you can still get very close to them. They start to arrive end of September into October, then at the end of October into November they start to give birth to their pups.

It is an amazing sight, the bulls having fights and roaring their heads off, the mothers herding and suckling their young.

If you are lucky you get to see the birthing, so wonderful. This is part of the bombing range believe it or not, the seals don't bat an eyelid and the RAF keep the beach clear of debris so no damage can happen to any of them.

Thousands of people go to see them every year, the wardens are there to oversee the whole process and can give you a mine of information about how many births there has been and all about the seals.

They leave January February after mating for the whole process to start all over. Nature surely is beautiful.
