Ive really started to regain my sewing enthusiasm. Currently, Im working on a little crossbody bag, which is turning out to be more challenging than I initially thought because I chose a thick fabric.
Its been a bit of a struggle, but Im determined to finish it.
During the Christmas season, a Facebook sewing group Im a part of held a 12 Days of Christmas sale. Each day, we were tempted to splurge on beautiful fabric and haberdashery items. The first thing I bought was a surprise bundle of gorgeous, water-resistant fabric. A few days later, I returned for some lovely black vinyl and cork. I cant wait to have fun using all of it!
During Christmas week, our son and his girlfriend visited us along with our youngest granddaughter, Daisy. To take a break from the holiday food, we decided to go out for a meal. We chose our favourite restaurant that overlooks the sea and has a relaxed atmosphere.
I managed to take a picture with our son. He jokingly said he would charge me for it since you might recognize him as the actor Tony Way. Most recently, he played Lenny in After Life.
He has also appeared in Game of Thrones and films such as Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
But to us, hes just Tony.
We had a quiet Christmas this year because our daughter, (CUP designer Kelly Barker) was very sick with pneumonia. Fortunately, she was able to see a doctor before Christmas and received antibiotics. Since she was feeling so poorly, we decided to postpone our celebration until New Years Eve.
By then, she was feeling much better, and we had a lovely day and evening, exchanging gifts and singing in the New Year.
While Kelly was enjoying her dessert, I noticed that Sam was watching her, and little Cookie came and sat in front of him.
They looked like they were queuing up for ice cream.
Last week, I found myself at a loose end. Everything was ready for Christmas, so I decided to sort through my fabric stash and discovered some fat quarters with a retro Christmas design.
I searched online for a pattern to make a tissue box cover.
The accompanying video was a bit confusing, so I opted to download the paper pattern instead. Since it was an American pattern, I needed to shorten the length to fit our UK tissue boxes, but I felt much more confident in making those adjustments.
It was a quick and simple project that adds a festive touch to my tissue box.
Im excited to tackle many more projects in the new year!
I am rubbish at getting festive pictures of my dogs. They spend most of their time trying to get the outfit off, so the photos are just a blur.
If I do manage to get a good picture it will be of them sitting in front of the tree, with no outfit, while I hold a handful of treats to get their attention.
So I was delighted when hubby sent me this picture of Billy wearing reindeer ears. Ok, he doesnt look too impressed, but it is the best we can do. Bah Humbug Billy! This week I have added lots of Christmas quick cards for those last minute makes.
I have added some pretty bow elements, that can be used to decorate these cards or can be used on any project
