Here is the latest bag that I have made. Its called The Pixie Crossbody Bag. What a wonderful and mind-blowing feat of engineering this is. I dont know how the pattern makers do it. They must have mathematical brains.

I messed up the final rivet on the strap, threw a hissy fit, then decided to cut the end off and do another ... really carefully.

Luckily, I am not very tall, so a few inches off the strap will be ok

There is a family-run pet shop near us. And it recently had a new dog wash installed. As its so difficult to lift two Golden Retrievers into the bath, we decided to give it a try.

It is under a shelter, so it can be used in all weathers and is so quick and easy to use.

You pay with your card, then select how many minutes you want. You can add more as you go if you need to.

Then you press rinse and use the shower hose to get your dog wet, then you select your chosen shampoo, which comes out of the hose with water.

Once you have washed them, you choose rinse again. After that, we gave a quick towel dry before using the blow dryer. Sam, who is in the picture, was very calm and good throughout.

I was surprised Billy didnt bark all the way through, but he was great until we turned the dryer on, he really didnt like it.

So we had to take him home a bit soggy.

How many bags does one girl need? Too many!!! I made another bag last week and have already started working on my next one. I am on a roll now. I made this one, called The Crafted Crossbody, with water-resistant canvas and a cotton fat quarter for the lining.

I found that my domestic sewing machine liked this kind of fabric more than vinyl, which can get quite bulky in the seams.

I have been dreaming of a more robust sewing machine, but they are a bit out of my price range, unfortunately.

So I will just have to stock up on more pretty water-resistant canvas. lol

I really enjoyed making this one. It was quite a simple pattern, and I was working with some lovely, soft faux leather and waterproof canvas, so my sewing machine was happier than when Im trying to use the thicker materials.

I even made a feature of my handmade tag on the front. I also got to use one of my pretty zipper pulls. I think this is my new favourite bag ..... for now lol

I belong to a few bag-making groups on Facebook, and one of them hosts a monthly challenge to create a bag of a specific design.

This month, the challenge was to make The Clamshell Sling by Spencer Ogg Patterns.

Since this bag is quite small, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to use some vinyl off-cuts that I had on hand.

However, using two different shades of vinyl made the process a bit more challenging, as I had to keep switching threads.
