News & Updates from June Harrop

My youngest Daughter attended a fundraising gala on Sunday evening as she herself has been raising money for the charity. She was also a finalist in the St Helens Charity model 2017 competition at the event and I am so proud to say she won.
Although she suffered from serious illness herself when she was young, one nearly fatal, she never takes anything for granted, always has a positive outlook and goes out of her way to help anyone and everyone no matter what.
I am so blessed that she is my Daughter. The photo above is her in her sash and tiara xx

On Wednesday I celebrated my Birthday. It is a day, amongst others, when I get to spend time with my family. This year was extra special as it is the first Birthday I have had since my Granddaughter was born.
As usually I got spoiled rotten with lots of flower, cards and presents. But I have to say that the 2 things that really made my day was receiving my first Grandma card and seeing my Mum holding her Great Granddaughter.
There are so many good things in life but nothing more precious than Family xx

There is nothing worse than being ill and being stuck in the house staring at four walls so the other day i felt well enough to go out for a walk.
The sun was shining and it felt so good just to be out in the fresh air.
We set off and ended up at the local park. I managed to take this photo of just a few of the hundreds of bluebells that had opened up and looked like carpets of blue laying on the ground.
It was a beautiful sight.

Sorting through my photos i had to smile at this one. How many of you had one of these.
I spent a lot of time at my Grandmas house when i was growing up and i used to love wash days ( bit different now i have a family of my own ).
I used to love helping my grandma put the washing through the mangle. As a child the simple things in life were facinating and i used to love watching all the water pour into the bucket not really sure where it was all coming from.
Its not until you think about it that you realise just how much easier it is today to do the washing.
Something that would take my Grandma all day now just takes a few hours thank goodness.

Its really difficult to buy birthday presents for men, especially when its you hubby and especially when their birthday falls on the 20th December.
Usually everyone is concentrating on Christmas and so usually just end up going out for a meal. This year I decided to do something different.
John has always been a big fan of Rod Stewart so in Feb 2016 I managed to get tickets to see Rod in concert at the MEN Arena in Dec 2016.
We went and had an early dinner and then onto the concert. I have to say it was a fantastic performance. For a guy in his 70s he really is a Superstar.
We really enjoyed it and John said it was one of the best birthday presents ever, one to remember. The photo is Mr Stewart in action.
