Just when we are fooled into believing that summer has finally arrived with lovely long warm sunny days someone decides to turn the tap on.A short while ago the skies went black and the thunder started and then came the deluge.
It rained for about 10 minutes non stop.
When it stopped I just happened to look out of the window and saw the brightest rainbow I had ever seen.
I could not believe how vibrant it looked. Even the photo I took does not do it justice it was beautiful.
My niece Emma gets married in May and at the weekend we went on her hen party. It was a great night. We had a wonderful meal followed by music from a live band and the a disco were we all danced until we dropped.
What made the night even more special was it had been a long time since I was out with my two daughters, both my sisters and my four nieces.
It was a lovely girly occasion. Here is a photograph of my beautiful daughter's and niece's. My two daughter's are left and right at the back with the bride to be in between them. This is a family picture to treasure.

I thought I would share with you all my first ever attempt at taking a photograph last Friday's eclipse. Wasn't really sure whether it was going to work as when I got up it was very cloudy but I was in luck.
I had to make a few attempts when there was a break in the clouds. I also experimented with some new filter that I got at Christmas. I managed to get 4 good photos one of which is above. Got a long way to go before I am as good as the professionals but very pleased with my first attempts.

Not being well for the last few weeks has given me lots of time to play with my digital SLR camera.
With the hot weather we have been having we have had lots of visitors in the garden including bees, butterflies and dragonflies Here is just one of the photographs I managed to take of the bumble bee on my lavender plant.
Only being an amateur and only just starting to learn how everything works on my camera I have to say I am really proud of this photograph.

This is my new floral hanging basket I received for my birthday. The recent warm and sunny weather has really brought it on and is delightful to look at.
It is also attracting lots of bees so I am pleased to be doing my little bit to help sustain the bee population.
