News & Updates from CARDS BY HILDA

Its been a busy couple of weeks recently. On the 14th September I had a cataract operation, so unable to design for 10 days.
On the 19th September my husband Cliff and I celebrated our 60th Diamond Wedding Anniversary with a lovely meal with our family and a overnight stay in a local hotel, which was very nice.
I thought you might like to see our Congratulations card from the Queen. She (well her staff) sends out cards for those married 60 years or for a 100 years birthday, in the UK only, if notified 6 weeks in advance.
And Yes, for those who might be wondering did I get my celebration diamonds, yes, a beautiful diamond ring from my husband.
Here are a few of my recent quick designs.

This is my 5 year old Grandson Jake with his Easter hat, ready for his school Easter Parade. The children walk from school to the nearby local Church for their Easter service, wearing their Easter hats and bonnets.
The hat was made for him by his 10 year old sister Millie. He loves it, and I think she did an excellent job on the decorations, she is a very good crafter.

Here are my two youngest Grandchildren Jake 5 and Millie 10. The children were asked to dress in the style of 1918 as any character, and my daughter searched the charity shops to find outfits she could alter for them.
I think she did an excellent job.
This is a two day event at their school at their school to help the children to understand the meaning of the Armistice.

Here is a picture of my lovely Granddaughter Millie aged 8, who designed a poster to help find my missing goldfish.
I have a small pond in the garden with 9 fish of various colours and sizes.
At the weekend I noticed one was missing and assumed it might have died, as there is a net across the pond to stop herons and cats feasting on them.
My husband partially drained the water out of the pond , leaving enough to see clearly to the bottom, but no goldfish body.
Telling Millie and her brother Jake about the mystery of the missing fish, I jokingly suggested we should put a poster up to find to see if anyone has found it.
Millie took me to my word, and designed this fantastic poster, which she promptly stuck on the lamp post outside her house, (although she lives a mile away from me).
She also put my name, offering a £10 reward, and a phone number, (not my real number).
Still waiting, not had any calls yet! Haha.

It was my daughter's 40th birthday last week and I made her a banana flavoured birthday cake, which is her favourite.
My Grandchildren couldn't wait to get stuck in and start eating it.
Millie is showing she wants a big slice and Jake looks as though he is wondering if he will get a big slice as well.
Here are two of my latest cards I have made. I hpoe you like them.
