For the last 3 years the pair of swan on our lake have been unlucky . the first year the build a nest on the road side of the lake and the Female was killed ,whilst sitting on eggs, we were all so upset,, the second the year a new pair moved in and built in the same place / the cygnets hat and attracted a lot of attention., the next day all of the cygnets were gone, then last year the same thing , this time two survived from nine, this year they built on the island and hatched Seven . they are about two weeks old now and hopefully they will all survive this time. we are all so happy every day to see them still there.

This lake is across the road from my house. i have lived here since 1962. every year there will be ducklings and cygnets on the lake but the last 3 years have been so unlucky 2 years ago the pen was killed as she sat on her eggs, it was heartbreaking then the next two year after a new pair took over the cygnets were gone with 24 hrs.
Last year 2 survived out of 8, this year there are 7 and so far , they have survived but they are less than a week old. so fingers crossed for them.

My Son is a tailor and has his shop in Royal Wootton Basset, and so as they announced the lock down, he grabbed as much material and elastic as he could, he decided to make masks for the NHS and care homes he has made about 2 1/2 thousand so far m he has also made them for the police and paramedics, some one contacted the local paper and he was in there and also in the Gazzette, then people started to ask for masks. and they wanted to pay, so he has donated them to all hospitals and care homes and the public who paid a small sum for theirs helped to keep Mark in elastic etc. he got so busy that i have helped by trimming and turning them in the right way , i am so proud of him .

A couple of weeks ago i woke up with words coming in to my head, dont know where from as i am no poet, but they kept coming so i typed them out , and then put it on Fb i was shared well over 400 times , Thought i would share it with you .It felt like a message to get people to think while we are in this lock down.I hope you have all kept well.
